Tarazed functions as the "capital planet" of the New Commonwealth. In "Heart of the Journey Part 1", we find out that it is in the Triangulum galaxy.

Andromeda was named after the Vedrans' rise to power in the Andromeda Galaxy. The Andromeda Nebula is what astronomers used to call the Andromeda Galaxy when it was believed to be simply a nebula in the Milky Way. While the Andromeda galaxy was named after the mythological Andromeda, Andromeda the ship was not.

When a person whose DNA is not recognized attempts to fire a forcelance, he/she is stunned. The forcelance can also expand until it is about a meter long to be used like a quarterstaff.

The Nightsiders deposit their young, in the form of tadpoles, in the ocean in huge numbers. The strongest of the young gradually kill off the weakest and then leave the ocean when they reach adulthood. Unfortunately they prove devastating to the local marine life.

Harper grew up in Boston at a time when Earth was controlled by Nietzscheans and Magog. As a result of his less-than-ideal upbringing, Harper has a weak immune system that leaves him more vulnerable than most to illnesses.

Answer: Admiral Constanza Stark

Sara Riley, Dylan's fiancee, was the niece of Admiral Stark. Sam Profit is the alias of Beka's "uncle" Sid Barry. Lieutenant Refractions of Dawn was a Than pilot who was killed in the premiere episode.
