1. How many children did Sarah and William have?

Answer: 5

Sarah's first child was born at the Château with the help of William and Emmanuelle. He was named Philip Edward Whitfield. He grew up for five or six years without a father. Joachim was a father figure in Philip's life. William came home briefly while Philip was still a baby for two or three days. Elizabeth "Lizzie" would have died at birth had Joachim not saved her. Lizzie died of pneumonia when she was four years of age.

The other children were Julian, Isabelle and Xavier.
2. Who was Sarah's first husband's name?

Answer: Freddie

Freddie mouthed the words to "I love you" to Sarah at the altar as they were getting married. Sarah repeated the same phrase. The next scene shows Freddie drunk and slapping Sarah. He then "did something horrible" (no need to elaborate) and we see Sarah smiling after announcing she's pregnant.

Then Freddie slapped her so hard she fell losing the baby. At their first anniversary party Freddie showed up drunk with two other women. Sarah divorced Freddie soon afterwards.
3. Did Sarah have any siblings?

Answer: No

According to the book Sarah had a sister named Jane who was married and had children. When her husband died Jane remarried while Sarah lived in France with William and the children. In the television movie however there was NO mention of Jane's existence.
4. What was the name of the ship that carried Sarah and her parents to England?

Answer: Queen Mary

It was clearly identified as the Thompsons were walking up the gangplank as "Queen Mary".
5. Where were Sarah and William's Château located in?

Answer: France

While they were on their honeymoon in France, the newlyweds decided to have a picnic in the country. Sarah decided to explore for a bit and found the château in complete disrepair. They worked on it for years making fit for living in.
6. How did The Whitfields become jewelers to the Crown?

Answer: The Queen Purchased Something

Nigel: "Excuse me Your Grace."
William: "What's the matter Nigel?"
Nigel: "The Queen's lady-in-waiting has just approached me."
Sarah: "Have we broken some rule of etiquette?"
Nigel: "No Your Grace. The Queen wishes to purchase something."
Sarah: "Good Lord."
Nigel: "Your Grace in our first day of business and we've become jewelers to the Crown."
Philip: "Absolutely smashing!"
7. Sarah's parents died in a boating accident AFTER the war.

Answer: False

While the Château was occupied by the Germans, Joachim learned that his only sister died in Berlin. Sarah's parents died in a boating accident DURING the war.
8. Who is Isabelle's twin?

Answer: Xavier

Philip was about sixteen when Sarah turned up pregnant much to his horror. By cesarean section (guessing) Sarah gave birth to twins Isabelle and Xavier.
9. Who were Sarah's boyfriends AFTER William's death?

Answer: Joachim and Charles

Sarah and Philip had a minor fight about his true feelings of his fiancée Lady Cecily Hawthorne. Julian came in and said a man wanted to see her. After meeting Joachim at the Château they went to Paris and consummated their relationship one and one time only. A childhood friend Charles Davenport was buying something in Whitfield's when they became reacquainted and began a relationship.
10. Of Sarah's five children, who was divorced?

Answer: 3

ISABELLE was the first to marry to a Lorenzo Prince of Venice but divorced him to be with a better Italian man who was the father of her unborn baby.
PHILIP married Lady Cecily Hawthorne because she would make an excellent Duchess of Whitfield. They had two children and they both decided on not having anymore children and so he got a vasectomy. Philip tells in love with his brother Julian's wife Yvonne. They were later caught at the Chateau's barn consummating their adultery by Sarah. Philip and Cecily divorced and Philip later married a free Yvonne.
JULIAN fell in love with Yvonne a former teenage model. They were later married at the Château much to Sarah's chagrin. When Yvonne became pregnant she wanted an abortion but it was Julian who forced her to have the baby. He gave her one million dollars in exchange for a divorce and permission to raise their son Maximilian "Max" on his own.
XAVIER never married in the TV movie and LIZZIE died before she could marry.
