Kevin has a black eye, a wart, and a cloth stuffed into his mouth to make him look ugly. It's supposed to be an exercise to see how perception of attractiveness changes the way people react to each other, but it's really just because the teacher, Ms. Barch, hates men since her husband left her.

Brooke has had surgery because, according to Quinn, her old nose "had an extra bone in it". She wants to join the Fashion Club but wasn't cute enough before.
