Answer: A stroke

"All in the Family" was reformed to "Archie Bunker's Place" in 1979. Archie Bunker started his own business running a bar, where most of the show's action took place. Jean Stapleton decided to leave the show in Fall, 1980 so her character, Edith, was written out of the show and it was explained she died of a stroke.
2. On "Good Times", how did family patriarch James Evans die?

Answer: He was in a car crash

"Good Times" ran from 1974 to 1979. James Evans was played by John Amos, who was let go from the series in 1976 due to differences over the show's production. James obtained a job in a garage in Mississippi and planned to move his family there from their Chicago ghetto.

Unfortunately, while the family was preparing their big move, James's wife, Florida, received a telegram that he was killed in an automobile accident.

Answer: Valerie/Hogan Family

Valerie Harper was the star of "Valerie" which premiered in 1986. She had a showdown with the producers over the show's direction which led to her departure in 1987. Her character, Valerie Hogan, died in an off-camera car accident. The series underwent a number of title changes before they finally agreed on "Hogan Family".

"Dallas" was a popular long-running prime time soap opera. Patrick Duffy played Bobby Ewing, one of the show's more popular characters. Duffy left midway through the series but was persuaded by co-star, Larry Hagman, to return. In the story line, Bobby Ewing was killed when he was struck by an automobile. On his return it was explained that the season of his absence was dreamed by Bobby's wife, Pam, so he didn't really pass away.

"Beverly Hills 90210" was a popular teen drama that ran from 1990 to 2000. Jack McKay was Dylan McKay's father. In 1993, Jack was allegedly killed by a bomb planted in his car. Several years later, it was established that he escaped and was living a private life since then. Antonia was Dylan's wife who was unfortunately shot to death by bullets that for meant for Dylan. Scott Scanlon was David Silver's best friend who accidentally shot himself on his birthday. Joshua Richland was Brandon Walsh's running mate when he ran for student body president.

He was sadly killed in a car crash.
6. The chief from "Gimme A Break" died during the course of the series. Who was the actor that played him?

Answer: Dolph Sweet

"Gimme A Break" premiered in 1981. The show was about a widower chief of police raising three teenagers with the help of his housekeeper. Sweet passed away in 1985, leading to the death of his character, Carl Kanisky.
7. Which character on "Barney Miller" met his maker?

Answer: Nick Yemana

"Barney Miller" ran from 1975 to 1982. Yemana was played by Jack Soo, who passed away of throat cancer in 1979. The whole cast had a memorial episode in his honor.

Ernie "Coach" Pantusso was a former baseball coach turned bartender at Cheers. The series ran from 1982 to 1993. Actor Nicholas Colosanto, who played the role of Coach, had passed away in 1985, prior to the series third season finale.
10. In "Seinfeld", how did George's fiancee Susan, meet her demise?

Answer: She licked a lot of envelopes

"Seinfeld" ran from 1990 to 1998 and was one of the most popular sitcoms of all time. George Costanza was engaged to Susan Ross, a former NBC executive. They invited over 500 guests to their wedding and Susan got sick from licking all the envelopes, which contained a poisonous toxic glue. She passed out and later died in the hospital.
