1. In the first episode "Show Me a Ring Sometime" who plays Sumner Sloan?

Answer: Michael McGuire

Ted Danson of course plays Sam Malone. Ron Frazier played Ron in this episode and John P. Navin played the boy.

2. Sam has never been married.

Answer: False

In episode 2 we learn that Sam was married to Debra. Debra was played by Donna McKechnie.

3. What baseball team does Ed Kellner like?

Answer: New York Yankees

Ed wanted Carla fired because when he insulted Sam and the Red Sox, Carla attacked him.

Answer: John McEnroe

John McEnroe was a tennis player. Incidently, Wade Boggs and Kevin McHale have both been on the show. John McEnroe and Larry Bird have not been on, but they've both been mentioned.

5. In "The Coach's Daughter", Lisa, Coach's daughter, is planning to marry a man. What is the man's name?

Answer: Roy

Lisa was played by Allyce Beasley. Roy was played by Phillip Charles MacKenzie.

Julia Duffy played Diane's friend Rebecca who went out on a date with Sam.

She knows Diane can't keep a secret so she makes up this story knowing Diane will run and tell Sam. Nick is the actual father of Gino. Eddie is her second husband and the father of her last two children, the twins Jesse and Elvis. Bennet Ludlow is a friend of Frasier's who also got Carla pregnant in an episode. Carla's a rather fertile woman.

This is also the episode where Kevin wants to become a monk, however after drinkng he hits on Diane and decides he isn't ready to become a monk.

Answer: Lana

Lana was played by Barbra Babcock. Babcock later went on to play Dorothy on "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman."

12. Diane had a cat named Emily Dickenson.

Answer: False

Diane's cat was named after a poet, but not Emily Dickenson. Her cat's name was Elizabeth Barrett Browning.

13. Who is the father of Carla's fifth child?

Answer: Nick Tortelli

She convinces Marshall that he's the father because she wants someone who will be around to help, and Marshall is a responsible man. However, guilt overcomes Carla and we find out that the real father is Nick, her exhusband.

Answer: He's gay

Everyone in the bar wants Sam to get rid of Tom for fear the bar will become a "Gay bar". Diane wants Sam to stand up for his friend. In the end, Sam does the right thing. Norm and Cliff end up making fools of themselves. Tom Jackson was played by Alan Autry.

Diane wins the contest and plans to use the publicity to tell the world how degrading the contests are. However, when she learns about the grand prize she changes her mind and as she puts it "sells out".

Carla wasn't allowed to be in it becuase she was pregnent. In a different season she is in the contest, but loses to a blonde who's well built.

17. In "Pick a Con... Any Con" who has an $8,000 gambling debt?

Answer: Coach

Coach, or Ernie Pantuso in case you're wondering why I also put Ernie as a choice, got taken advantage of by George, played by Reid Shelton. Harry the Hat then comes in to help Coach out because Harry is a conartist himself. Harry is played by Harry Anderson who later played Harry Stone on "Night Court". Just a thought here but I wonder if Harry Anderson ever played a character not named Harry.

18. Who is Diane's mother?

Answer: Helen

Helen Chambers was played by Glynis Johns. You might recognize her when you see this episode, she once played Mrs. Banks in "Mary Poppins".

19. In "Show Down-Part I" Sam's brother comes to town. What is his name?

Answer: Derek

Derek is played by George Ball.
