1. What is the purpose of the game the girls are playing at the start of the episode?

Answer: To see who they're going to marry

The game is played by the girls looking at the various men who pass by their window, and they have to choose between three men - they can say no to the first two, but they then have to take the third, and that's who they marry. The game "One, two three, he's yours!" is played to try and cheer Rory up (she had just broken up with Dean), but it turned the other way - Rory's number one turned out to be Dean.

2. Is this the episode when Max and Lorelai decide to finally go on a real date after their previous relationship didn't work out?

Answer: Yes

After their unfortunate break up a few episode previous, Lorelai had realised how much she missed Max and went to see him. They decided to take it slow, and start out talking on the phone, but in this episode, Max runs the idea of an actual date past Lorelai, and she agrees. This is therefore the first real date they went on since their breakup.

3. What type of chips does Lane bring Rory from the supermarket?

Rory is still too afraid to go into the supermarket as she might run into Dean, so she has Lane run in and get the things she needs from there.
