1. At the start of this episode, what food item does Dean bring to the girls' house?

Answer: Pizza

Food is always a good thing to bring when coming to the Gilmore house - if you don't, they might eat you instead.

2. Who is Donna Reed?

Answer: A television mom

Donna Reed is, according to the Gilmore girls, one of the perfect t.v. mom's from the 1950's. All she does is cook, clean, and act happy (like all 50's moms - right!) on the show, but Rory later reveals that she actually was an uncredited producer and director of her television show, making her one of the first women executives in history.

Her television show aired from 1958-1966 on which she co-starred with such actors as Carl Betz and Shelley Fabares.

3. Who says this line: "When standards slip, families flee and in comes the seedy crowd. You got trouble, my friends."

Answer: Taylor

Although Lorelai would be a good choice (it is likely she would say this mockingly of Taylor), it was in fact Taylor. He says it in the diner when they are talking about sprucing up the old place, and Luke is steadfastly refusing. That is until, of course, Lorelai convinces him with her really bad singing to make a few changes.

This was the song that finally convinced Luke to paint his diner - or rather, the threat of another verse.

After the sad death of their previous cat, Babette and Morey needed a new companion - this episode is the one where they finally get that new friend.

Lorelai at first wants to call him Stanley, but after Rory points out that Stanley is a she, Lorelai decides to change his name to Stella, keeping with the "Street Car Named Desire" theme.

Luke's dad ran a hardware store before Luke turned it into a diner. Once he ran out of paper, and he had to write an order down on the wall. Luke never had to heart to do anything with it, as it was one of the few things he had left of his father's, so it was still there that day.

It read "Three hammers, Phillips-head screwdrivers, and three boxes of nails in assorted sizes." It should be there still today, as Luke didn't want to give up that memory of his father.
