Harry played the clarinet in the Juilliard Youth Symphony. He forgot it when he came aboard Voyager, and he had to use some of his replicator rations to replicate one (see episode "Parturition"). He is shown playing it on several occasions (see episodes "Parturition," "The Thaw," "Night," and "Virtuoso").

Harry met Libby at a Ktarian music festival, when he was sitting in her seat. It took him three weeks to work up the courage to ask her on a date after the incident. We see Libby in the episode "Non Sequitur".

Derran Tal is the name of the Varro woman with whom Kim has a relationship, and is reprimanded by Captain Janeway (see episode "The Disease").

Lyndsay Ballard was an academy classmate of Kim's. He confessed to having been infatuated with her (see episode "Ashes to Ashes").

Marayna was the holographic character with whom Kim fell in love (see episode "Alter Ego").

In "Emanations," Kim is switched with a dead body from a burial capsule while investigating a burial ground on an asteroid, and he finds himself on the Vhnori homeworld. He must die to make his way back to Voyager (where The Doctor revives him with cordrazine). Kim also died in "Deadlock".

Janeway left Kim in command for the first time when she and others of the senior staff transport to Earth in "Future's End." Kim orders Voyager into Earth's atmosphere to beam Janeway and Chakotay from Chronowerx Industries. Janeway later tells him that he "didn't do too badly" for his first time in the command chair.

In "Endgame," it is said that Harry commands the USS Rhode Island (NCC 72701). It is a 25th century, refit Nova-class starship.

Contrary to the beliefs of some, the USS Rhode Island is NOT the ship that is commanded by Captain Geordi LaForge in the episode "Timeless" -- that is the USS Challenger.
