Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the first Road Block of the race, team members rode the Rail Mail under what city?

Answer: London

At the start of Leg 2, teams took a day trip through London, England, where they spent their first leg, and there, teams made their way to the London Postal Museum. One member of each team was required to hop onto the underground mail rail, head to a station down the line, and search through marked mail bins for their next clue. Ryan, Raquel, Anthony, Penn, Ray, Connie, Arun, Sheri, Taylor, and Lulu were selected to complete this task, sorting out what they needed (even though some thought the task was more difficult than it needed to be).
2. In Leg 3, team members visited Glasgow, Scotland. How many notes did racers need to perform on the bagpipes for their Road Block?

Answer: One

Visiting Òran Mór in Glasgow, Scotland, teams needed to pick someone (Kim, Spencer, Dusty, Lala, Natalia, Raquel, Sam, Caro, Isaiah, and Akbar) to join the Johnstone Pipe Band. In the music hall, they first needed to assemble a set of bagpipes using the parts provided.

Then, they needed to participate in an ongoing performance, learning how to operate their instrument to execute and hold a sustained note for the entirety of a traditional Scottish bagpiping anthem. If they could follow through, they would receive their next clue.
3. How many racers completed the mountain hike during the Swiss Road Block in Leg 4?

Answer: Seven

Although it would be a smart assumption to assume that, at this point in the race, there would be nine teams competing, the production hiatus between Legs 3 and 4 resulted in four teams not returning and two being re-added (after having been eliminated in Legs 1 and 3).

This meant that when teams made it to the top of Säntis in Northeastern Switzerland, seven racers would be able to travers a via ferrata to collect their clue at the top during the Leg 4 Road Block. The task was done by Ryan, Lulu, Arun, Raquel, Penn, Moe, and Sheri.
4. The Road Block in Leg 5 involved which of these high-intensity activities completed alongside the Travelocity Roaming Gnome?

Answer: Bungee jump

Teams didn't know it until they opened their clues leaving the Pit Stop in Altstätten, but whoever they chose to join the Travelocity Roaming Gnome for a task would need to head to Tenero-Contra and take a massive bungee jump over the side of Verzasca Dam, a 722-foot drop acting as a Switchback to the first major task of "The Amazing Race 14". Dusty, Kim, Cayla, Lala, Sheri, and Natalia put themselves forward for this task (though Sheri was required to complete it due to Akbar's weight) before teams raced south to Lugano.
5. In Leg 6, teams passing through Corsica did which of the following for their Road Block?

Answer: Canyoning

On the island of Corsica, teams ended off Leg 6 heading to the landscape at Verghellu Canyon Altipani where one member of each team had to take a canyoning course, navigating the hiking trails in the mountains there to locate their final clue. Penn, Lulu, Raquel, Akbar, Arun, and Ryan ended up travelling through this one, heading 2.4 kilometres through the wilderness jumping through rivers, ziplining, abseiling, and climbing through Corsica before heading to the next Pit Stop.
6. For their Road Block in Leg 7, teams helped local fishermen in Corsica by mending which of these?

Answer: Nets

Reaching the city of Bonifacio on the southern coast of Corsica, teams found a Road Block in the harbour that asked one member of each team to get knotted up. For this, teams were given a fishing net with a large hold in the center, and using provided tools and string, they were required to learn a local technique to mend the helpful fishing tool. If they could properly tie the lines and fix the net they would receive their next clue and continue racing. Cayla, Penn, Ryan, Natalia, and Lala used their dextrous fingers and minds to make it work and finish out the leg.
7. Visiting the vineyards and towns of Macedonia in Leg 8, teams faced two Road Blocks, both of which involved making local cuisine.

Answer: False

Though teams certainly did visit Macedonia and handle food in Leg 8, only the first of two Road Blocks encountered involved food. For the first of these, selected team members were required to join a local demonstration in the town of Nea Gonia and assist in making sixty dolmades, leaf-wrapped rice dishes, to get their next clue. Because there was a second Road Block in this leg, the other team member was subsequently required to complete a second solo challenge in Heraklea. For this one, they had to listen to a fifteen-minute sermon conducted by a local priest, than use what they'd learned to answer trivia questions from a local vendor to get their next clue.
8. For their Road Block task in Theatro Dassous (in Thessaloniki, Leg 9), team members traded a gold coin to whom for their next clue?

Answer: The Oracle of Delphi

Leg 9 of the race took teams to Thessaloniki, Greece where, to kick off this series of tasks, teams drove to Theatro Dassous for a Road Block. In this one, teams arrived to find the amphitheatre's main bowl occupied by hundreds upon hundreds of flat stones. For this challenge, the selected team members had to turn over as many stones as it took to find one of four gold coins waiting underneath.

Then, they could trade the coin to an Oracle of Delphi impersonator to collect their next clue. Kim, Raquel, Dusty, and Arun were selected for this task.
9. Teams found two Road Blocks in Leg 10 (in Portugal). The first of these had team members choosing amongst which of these modes of transportation?

Answer: Rowboat

Reaching Setúbal, Portugal in the tenth leg of the race, the final four teams were told that there would be two Road Block tasks to face before the Pit Stop. The first of these sent teams to the Fisherman's Wharf on the harbourfront where Kim, Raquel, Ryan, and Arun were selected to search amongst several rowboats for one of four named after famous Portuguese explorers. If they paddled the correct boats across the marina, a fisherman would give them their next clue, otherwise they'd need to return the incorrect boat and start all over again.
10. The final Road Block of the race, found at Santuário de Cabo Espichel, required that racers count columns in a church. How many did they ultimately need to count?

Answer: More than 100

Teams ended up counting one hundred and six columns in Santuário de Cabo Espichel when they stopped off at the Portuguese coast in the end of Leg 10. For this, Penn, Cayla, Dusty, and Natalia were required to stand within a stone enclosure in the middle of the church's courtyard and count the columns that surrounded the interior of the building to get the proper number. To give their guess they had to run a quarter mile to a waiting monk; getting it wrong meant running back and trying all over again.
