Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many queens vied for the crown as the first 'All Star' Champion?

Answer: Twelve

The twelve queens found in this special 'All Star' season were all featured in the first four seasons of "RuPaul's Drag Race" and missed out on the crown. These queens ranged from runners-up and Miss Congeniality winners to as low as eleventh-place finishers.

While seasons one and two had three queens each, season three had four queens represented and season four only had two. All four past Miss Congeniality winners returned.
2. This season, RuPaul added which criteria to the judging expectations?

Answer: Synergy

This meant that, in addition to seeking out the contestants' Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve, and Talent, they all needed to keep the additional requirement of 'Synergy' in mind. It wasn't hard though. As soon as the queens were united in the break room, Ru had them split into teams of two for the remainder of the competition; every week, they would be competing as a pair and would be judged as such. During Lip-Synchs, they would also have the opportunity to tag out their partners to finish the song, but only once per team during the competition.
3. How were teams formed during the first episode of the season?

Answer: The queens chose

Ru ended up putting the queens' fates into their own hands, giving them photos of all of their opponents and telling them that if they matched photos, they would be paired off together for the competition. Three pairs were made immediately (Team Shad, Team Rujubee, and Team Brown Flowers) while two teams were made in the second round of voting (Team Yarlexis and Team Latrila).

This meant that Team Mandora (Pandora Boxx and Mimi Imfurst) were stuck together, being the only ones unpicked.
4. In the first episode, the queens participated in two photo shoots, one being themed 'Half-Baked', and the other with which of these themes?

Answer: Opposites Attract

After splitting off into their six teams of two, the queens were informed that their first task would be the typical photo shoot challenge. This time around, though, they would all need to take two photos before the inevitable runway walk for the judges, one being a mid-transition shot called 'Half-Baked', and the other being a stylized, thematic shoot called 'Opposites Attract'. Ultimately, Mimi Imfurst and Pandora Boxx were called out for their poor photos and lack of synergy and Mimi's lacklustre lip-synch against Chad Michaels (to Paula Abdul's "Opposites Attract") sent her and her partner home.
5. Which of these did the contestants need to bring to RuPaul's 'Gaff-In'?

Answer: Celebrity impersonations

The second week of the show forced the teams of two to write comedy routines for a "Laugh-In"-style sketch show hosted by RuPaul and judged by Vicki Lawrence as Mama. In addition to this complicated joke-writing challenge, the duos had to hold onto cohesive and synergistic celebrity impersonations. Nina Flowers' near-unknown impersonation as La Lupe and Tammie Brown's unfunny Tammy Faye Messner landed them in the bottom two, and Tammie wasn't able to Lip-Synch enough to Ethel Merman her team.
6. Where were the queens required to perform pranks on unsuspecting people?

Answer: A street

After posing as butch men for a quick photo challenge, the teams of queens needed to work together to prank unsuspecting pedestrians on the side of a busy street. One queen would inform the other queen, via headset, over the course of ten minutes and do pranks for escalating point values, convincing locals with their charisma. Ultimately, Team Shad had the most points and they won the challenge as a result.

This sent Teams Latrila and Rujubee to the Lip-Synch and the former went home.
7. Who used the 'Shemergency' alarm during a Lip-Synch this season, allowing for a tag team swap-out in front of the judge's panel?

Answer: Yara Sofia

After a cheer-reading challenge, the final three teams paired up with Kelly Osbourne, Jillian Hervey, and Kady Z to perform girl group-inspired lip-synchs on the main stage to "Cover Girl", "Glamazon", and "Don't Be Jealous of My Boogie". Team Shad won the challenge with Jillian Hervey, so the other two teams went head to head in a Lip-Synch battle where Yara Sofia became the only user of the Shemergency alarm this season, opting to tag Alexis Mateo off of the stage to complete the song.

This loss of momentum cost them and Ru asked them to sashay away.
8. During the penultimate round of the competition, Ru pitted the losing team's teammates against one another in a Lip-Synch for their Lives. Was anyone eliminated?

Answer: No

After failing to embody a strong enough good vs. evil dichotomy for a superhero-inspired challenge on the runway, Jujubee and Raven were asked to Lip-Synch for their Lives while Team Shad advanced to the finale. What resulted was a highly emotional lip-synch to Robyn's "Dancing on my Own", during which the friends and teammates wept over the possibility of going home. Ru seemed to have no choice but to keep them both in the competition, resulting in a final four going into the last episode.
9. The final round of the competition involved a gauntlet of difficult tasks. Which was not one of them?

Answer: A music video performance

After some lessons in stand-up comedy with Cheri Oteri, the queens assembled a series of outfits and hopped into dragmobiles piloted by Delta Work and Ongina to perform a number of difficult tasks, eschewing the typical season-ending music video led by RuPaul.

The first task was a four-queen interview with Mark Malkin, the second involved receiving a key to West Hollywood and a dedicated hamburger during a press conference at Mary's Hamburger, and the third involved a five minute stand-up comedy act.

This culminated to a final runway look on the main stage.
10. Which queen became the winner of "RuPaul's Drag Race" All Stars?

Answer: Chad Michaels

After all was said and done, RuPaul discussed the final four all stars with Michelle Visage, Santino Rice, and guest judges Cheri Oteri and Beth Ditto, determining that neither Shannel nor Jujubee were ready to take on the mantle of all star winner. In determining who would emerge victorious and appear as the first inductee into the Drag Race Hall of Fame, Ru opted to go with polished and traditional queen Chad Michaels over the provocative Raven following a final lip-synch to RuPaul's "Responsitrannity". Chad walked away with $100,000, a reward from MAC Cosmetics, and a trip from Al and Chuck's Travel.
