Ensign Travis Mayweather, played by Anthony Montgomery, is a "boomer" or person who lived most of their life in space. He talks with several other crew members about his experiences. He was growing up at a time when ships travelled very slow, so it took years to make voyages that would later take hours.

The two soldiers were Suliban. Not much is known about them in this episode, but they are found out to be a nomadic species working with a faction to win a Temporal Cold War.

In this episode, several Suliban soldiers were sent after the Klingon to find the location of a package he was delivering.

Answer: She can tell if people are lying through close contact.

She was a former member of the Cabal that was trying to win the Temporal Cold War. She left the faction because she felt it was too high a price to pay to "evolve" as she said. She was working with the Klingon courier to get a message to his people to help swing the Temporal war away from her own people.
