Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "NCC-1701. No bloody "A", "B", "C", or "D"."

Answer: Scotty

Scotty said this quote in the "Next Generation" episode "Relics" when he asked the computer to show him the bridge of his ship. Scotty wanted to see the Enterprise one last time because he spent 75 years stuck in a pattern buffer.
2. "You disgrace yourself and our purpose. I do not go into battle with one whose honor is washed away in breshtanti ale. Keep him!"

Answer: Koloth

This is my favorite episode it is from "Deep Space Nine" and it is called "Blood Oath". Koloth said this after he found Kor in the drunk tank and asked Odo to keep him in here until he sobered up. Kor was on the holodeck playing the "Battle of the Brier Patch" and he was drinking. Odo and Quark arrested him and had him put in the drunk tank to sleep it off. Koloth came down and arranged bail, but upon seeing a drunk Kor he told Odo to keep him and stormed off for Quarks. Dax paid the bail and got Kor out.
3. "He tasks me. He tasks me and I shall have him. I'll chase him round the moons of Nibia and round the Antares maelstrom and round perdition's flames before I give him up! Prepare to alter course."

Answer: Khan

This quote is from "Star Trek II Wrath of Khan". Khan was quoting "Moby Dick" when he said this. Khan is minutes from attacking the Enterprise which is now entering orbit of Regula.
4. "I did not say the Enterprise should be hauling garbage. I meant to say it should be hauled away as garbage."

Answer: Korax

This is the quote that started the bar fight in "Trouble with Tribbles". You should never insult the Enterprise in front of Scotty as was chief engineer. You insult Enterprise and Scotty will give you a nine fingered punch up your nose.
5. "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one. I have been and always shall be your friend. Live long and prosper."

Answer: Spock

These are Spock's last words from "Wrath of Khan". When Khan attacked the Enterprise he detonated the Genesis torpedo intending to kill Kirk. Khan then hit the warp core with a phaser blast, triggering a warp core breach, and flooding Engineering with lethal gamma radiation. Spock seeing impending doom abandoned his post, ran to Engineering, transferred his katra into Bones, and went into the dilithium chamber and attempted to repair it. Spock was killed in the process from radiation poisoning and only lived long enough to say goodbye to Kirk. Later in "Search for Spock" Spock was revived and his katra was put back in his body.
6. "I hope it does not come to that Mr. Scott. Warp speed."

Answer: Kirk

This quote is from "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier". The Enterprise is about to leave for Nimbus III, but the Enterprise has problems because the engineers cannibalized the ship after her shakedown cruise and did not put everything back. Scotty says "Don't worry captain, we will beat those Klingon devils even if I have to get out and push."
7. "The first duty of every Starfleet officer is to the truth-- whether it's a scientific truth or a historical truth or a personal truth. It is the guiding principle on which Starfleet is based. Now, if you can't find it in yourself to stand up and tell the truth about what happened you don't deserve to wear that uniform. I will make this simple for you, Mr. Crusher. Either you come forward and tell Admiral Brand what really took place, or I will. Dismissed!"

Answer: Picard

The quote gave it away this is from "First Duty" which is my favorite "Next Generation" episode. Wesley is being grilled by Picard for doing an illegal move which got his friend killed. Picard and Dr. Crusher know Wesley and Sito Jaxa lied in court. If Wesley does not come forward Picard will go to Brand and Wesley and Sito will be expelled. Wesley does come forward and clears his and Sito's names. Nick Locarno the squadron leader is expelled for lying to the board, and tampering with Wesley's Black Box deleting 90 seconds of video which showed the exact moment the crash occurred. Jean Hajar is moved to Operations but her flight privileges are permanently revoked. Sito takes Wesley's place on the Enterprise but she is killed when the Cardassians destroy her ship a year later. Wesley stays at the Academy for a year but resigns to help the Traveler finish his mission.
8. "I should never have left him."

Answer: Uhura

This quote is from "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home". Uhura and Chekov sneak into a military base to steal uranium for the reactor, but Chekov gets caught and ends up getting meningitis after falling into an elevator shaft. Chekov ends up in the hospital, and is about to have Eugenics Wars era doctors drill into his head. Bones revives him, and the Enterprise crew and Gillian smuggle Chekov out disguised as doctors.
9. Said "Are you kidding?" after Janice Rand asked him if they should report to Starfleet.

Answer: Sulu

This is the final line of the first act in "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country". Praxis just blew up and Sulu has to move his ship the Excelsior through the debris field left by the shock wave. Kerla contacts the ship and tells Sulu to stay out of Klingon space.

It is in this moment Janice Rand asked Sulu if he is going to report to Starfleet with Sulu responding "Are you kidding?" before Sulu does call it in.
10. "There are preparations to make, but when we next meet, captain, we will proceed exactly as you suggest."

Answer: Q

The Enterprise was on her maiden voyage to Deneb IV to investigate Farpoint in the very first episode of "Star Trek: The Next Generation": "Encounter at Farpoint". Just as the Enterprise is entering the Deneb System, a large electrical field appears in front of them and this is humanities first encounter with the malevolent being known as Q. Q freezes Torres and starts changing forms. First Q turns into a 17th Century captain, then he turns into a marine from Desert Storm, before turning into a Eugenic Wars soldier. Q humiliates the crew with Picard telling him all he does is prosecute and judge humans for what they have not done. Q then says "There are preparations to make, but when we next meet, captain, we will proceed exactly as you suggest." before he heads back into the energy field. Q then turns into a ball of energy and chases Enterprise at Warp 10 before Picard gives his famous order that Enterprise must separate. Worf takes command of the saucer module while Picard, Data, Tori, Yar, and O'Brien head down the turbolift to the Battle Bridge to separate the ship. Yar fires at Q and we watch as Enterprise splits in two.

The Battle Bridge engages Q in a standoff and they get enveloped by the energy field. Q places Picard on trial in an Eugenics Wars era court with Q acting as judge, jury, and executioner in his true form. Q charges humanity of being savages and Data and Yar try to defend Picard but fail. Yar lashes at Q of her time on Turkana where they allowed Eugenic Wars courts and every day when she was a teenager she was raped. Q responds by freezing her and Picard orders Q to revive her. Q thaws Yar and orders his soldiers to shoot the Enterprise crew if Picard refuses to answer the charges. Picard denies everything Q charges him of, and Q recesses the trial so Picard and the Enterprise crew can continue their mission. Later the Enterprise crew arrive on Denab IV and solve the mystery of the "Encounter at Farport" to prove Q wrong. The Bandi have kidnapped a giant alien jellyfish and turned it into Farpoint. Picard orders phasers fired on a low pulse at Farpoint and the jellyfish assumes it's true form and the ship that was firing at Denab IV also turns into it's true form and both leave to some unknown world. After the aliens leave Picard beats Q at his own game and tells him to quote: "get off my ship" and Q leaves. This is not the last The Federation will see of Q.
