Beta is introduced in season 9, episode 12, "Guardians" when he captures Henry and shoves the teenager in front of Alpha. Henry has been tracking them because he's fond of Lydia, who was returned to her mother Alpha from the Hilltop in a prisoner exchange. Beta is played by Ryan Hurst.

Answer: Half Moon

Beta was a famous country singer before the apocalypse. He performed under the stage name of "Half Moon." (The audience is never told his real name.) This stage name is revealed in the episode "Look at the Flowers." In the episode, Beta puts on an old album of his to draw walkers to form a new herd.

In the crossover show, "Fear the Walking Dead," the character Daniel Salazar is shown carrying one of Half Moon's records.

Negan calls him "Frowny McTwoKnives" because of his weapon choice and his demeanor. Beta carries his knives in a holster on his belt.

Daryl stabs Beta in the chest in "Chokepoint," but Beta just pulls the shiv straight out. In the same episode, Daryl shoves him down an elevator shaft and assumes he's dead, but Beta gets up later. In "Stalker," he battles with Rosita, who manages to slash him in the gut.

In the same episode, Judith shoots him through the door in the chest with Rick's Colt Python revolver, but he survives because he stole an armored vest from a guard he killed earlier.

Beta met his best friend in the rehab center where Alpha initially discovered him. He may have gone to the rehab center for a drug problem while he was still a famous musician. The friend was a worker there, and when the man is zombified, Beta can't bring himself to kill him. Alpha kills the walker, which upsets Beta. Alpha then hands him a knife and suggests he can wear his friend's face as a mask.

Answer: Lydia

In "Stalker," Beta sneaks into Alexandria. He kills Alfred, who is a guard preparing to go on watch. He kills Laura, a former Savior, by slamming her against prison bars, which snaps her neck. In "Walk With Us," Beta spars with Mary, who rips off part of his mask. He then disembowels her.

Answer: Negan

Negan infiltrates the Whisperers at Carol's request to kill Alpha, though it takes him a long time to get around to doing it. Beta is not a fan of the new guy, especially because Alpha seems to be attracted to him. He tells Negan he will never be one of them in season 10, episode 6, "Bonds," but Alpha does accept Negan into the pack.

The audience sees Beta's hand rise from the grave like a reanimated walker. He then claws his way out. He had snuck in through a series of underground tunnels, the entrance to which was hidden beneath an RV. This occurs in season 10, episode 10, "Stalker."

Beta doesn't want to be called Alpha when Alpha dies. In fact, he nearly kills another Whisperer for accidentally calling him Alpha. He carries Alpha's zombified head with him for awhile to listen to its advice, and he still regards her as the Alpha.

Negan confronts Beta when he tries to follow Lydia, causing him to halt his plans. Beta then throws a walker at Negan, but as he prepares to kill Negan, Daryl stabs Beta in both eyes. Beta manages to pull the knives out of his own eye sockets, but it renders him incapacitated and obvious to the surrounding walker herd he's been leading. The walkers turn on him and devour him.
