1. What colour was the front door of the house?

Answer: Blue

When the ten contestants walked in, they saw a note that said, "Welcome to 'Big Brother'. We look froward to watching you."
2. About how many people worked on the website of the show?

Answer: 50

Helen Hawken and Chris Short oversaw the website team. One of the problems faced was that the contestants could say something that could land the production team in legal trouble.
3. What percentage of the house was reflective?

Answer: 90

This made the house much cooler inside. If it wasn't reflective, the house would get very hot and unpleasant inside in the hot weather.
4. Who planted the garden?

Answer: Chrissy Robinson

Helen and Chris Short oversaw the website and Christopher Hawkins is made up. Chrissy Robinson was the art director. She planted courgettes, onions, beans, beetroot, peas, lettuce, aubergine and peppers for the housemates.
5. What colour was the Diary Room chair?

Answer: Purple

It was Conrad Green's, the series editor, idea to put a bell outside the Diary Room so the housemates could ring to signal they wanted to go in. They bought the bell at Homebase the same morning the housemates entered. It had to be cordless because they didn't have time to wire it up.
6. How many producers were there?

Answer: 13

There were also 22 directors, and endless runners, editors and researchers.
7. What was the name of the site the house was built on?

Answer: Three Mills

It was at Bromley-by-Bow in East London. One of the attractions was the added bonus of walking across a bridge to get to the studio.
8. What was the average amount of eggs the 'Big Brother' chickens laid every day?

Answer: 5 a day

Yes, even Darren's beloved Marjorie. Marjorie is the first chicken to have her own website.
9. How many kilometres of paper were used to create the 'Big Brother' application forms?

Answer: 23.8

The applicants were narrowed down after the initial forms to 5,000. Those 5,000 then had to complete a 16-page application form asking searching questions like, 'How do you really feel about cameras in the loo and shower?' and 'If you were a contestant on 'Mastermind' what would be your specialist subject and why?'
10. How many application forms were printed off the website?

Answer: 20,000

The team also received 25,000 telephone applications via their hotline. The team had to draft in more members of the team to help because they were so overwhelmed by the number of entries.
