Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the episode "Diversity Day", workers in the office undergo a training program on diversity. What is the reason for this needing to happen?

Answer: Michael upset his workers attempting to recreate a Chris Rock comedy routine

Michael caused controversy through acting out an unrepeatable section of Chris Rock's comedy routine. Only Michael actually needed to undergo Diversity Day, but was saved face through all the office being asked to partake.
2. Dwight owns and runs a farm in his spare time. What does this farm primarily produce?

Answer: Beets

"And just as you have planted your seed in the ground, I am going to plant my seed in you". Dwight runs Schrute Farms with his cousin Mose and defends beets to the death in the office. Jim notes that he has alliterative interests, citing "bears, beets, 'Battlestar Galactica'".
3. Which of the following members of the office do NOT bring a child to work in the season 2 episode "Take Your Daughter to Work Day"?

Answer: Creed

Meredith brings her borderline psychotic son Jake to work, and he bonds with Pam over their mutual love of shredding things. Toby brings his daughter Sasha who plays with the numerous toys Michael has on his desk. Lastly, and most memorably, Stanley brings his daughter Melissa who engages in one-sided flirtatious behavior with Ryan, which Stanley does not take kindly to. "Have you lost you mind boy? 'Cause I'll help you find it!"
4. Who admits responsibility for inhaling pot smoke at an Alicia Keys concert in "Drug Testing"?

Answer: Michael

Michael had been to an Alicia Keys concert and had fallen in with the wrong crowd. What follows is a confession to deputy sheriff volunteer Dwight that sees Dwight's loyalty to the law come into collision with his loyalty to Michael. Dwight eventually sides with Michael and sabotages Michael's urine test with his own waste. Delightful.
5. In the season 3 episode "Phyllis' Wedding", what do Bob and Phyllis find particularly annoying about Michael impromptu wedding speech?

Answer: He keeps making opening lines of speeches without continuing

Michael seems to think that he deserves a major role in the ceremony, and as such decides that he's earned a 40 minute speech. He asserts that whenever he has such a large amount of time, it's best to begin with several opening lines to ensure that he hits the right comedic note. Phyllis and Bob (Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration) soon lose patience and Michael has to be forcefully escorted out of the reception.
6. In the season 3 episode "Beach Games", what does Dwight name his team?

Answer: Gryffindor

Dwight is obviously a huge 'Harry Potter' fan. Jim names his team 'Voldemort' purely to make Dwight feel uneasy. The episode sees Jim, Dwight, Andy and Stanley lead teams in beach games in an attempt to be Michael's successor as the regional manager of Dunder Mifflin Scranton.
7. In the season 4 pilot episode "Fun Run", what cause does Michael organise a fun run for?

Answer: Rabies

Michael gave his fun run the catchy title of "Michael Scott's Dunder Mifflin Scranton Meredith Palmer Memorial Celebrity Rabies Awareness Pro-Am Fun Run Race For The Cure". This occurred after Meredith was discovered to have an onset of rabies whilst being treated in the hospital after Michael ran her over with his car.

Some members of the office such as Michael and Andy take the run very seriously, whereas others (Creed, Oscar, Stanley) use the time as an opportunity to go and have a drink together.
8. What act of petty revenge do Dwight, Jim and Michael perform on Karen and the Utica branch whilst avenging her leaving Dunder Mifflin Scranton?

Answer: The pushed an industrial photocopier down a flight of stairs

Whilst in disguise as mustached warehouse workers, Michael, Dwight and (regretfully) Jim went to Utica for some old fashioned revenge. Jim originally wanted to stay in Scranton, but after seeing that Dwight's plan involved Molotov cocktails, decided to come along with them. Once in Utica, Jim stayed in the car to keep a lookout, and only after the photocopier was destroyed would they be discovered by a very irritated Karen.
9. Which of the following guests is not present at Michael and Jan's condo in the season 4 episode "Dinner Party"?

Answer: Stanley

One of the most critically acclaimed episodes of "The Office"; "Dinner Party" sees Michael and Jan host Jim, Pam, Andy, Angela, Dwight and Dwight's lover (and former babysitter) for the most excruciatingly awkward dinner party in TV history. Too many things go wrong to list, but a particularly memorable moment is Jan hurling Michael's beloved Dundie award through his beloved (and tiny) plasma TV.
10. In the season 5 premier episode "Weight Loss"; which member of the office tries so hard to lose weight that they faint whilst being weighed?

Answer: Kelly

A weight loss competition between the Dunder Mifflin branches begins in an attempt to win extra vacation days. Members of the Scranton branch take the task in varying degrees of seriousness. Kelly in particular stands out through trying abstract diets that eventually lead to her fainting. Creed had supposedly given her a tapeworm to ingest that would "eat all her food".

It wasn't a tapeworm.
11. Which of these reasons contributed most to Michael leaving his job in the season 5 episode "Dream Team"?

Answer: He didn't like his new boss

Michael's new boss, Charles Miner, came to Dunder Mifflin as the new president of the North-East region. This made him Michael's boss. Several factors including Michael being cut off from David Wallace, the company's CEO, as well as his anniversary with the company party being cancelled, left Michael feeling devalued.

He eventually quit and began his own paper company, affectionately named the Michael Scott Paper Company.
12. What faux-pas does Michael commit in the season 5 finale "Company Picnic"?

Answer: He accidentally announced that a branch was being shut down

Not that it should be a big shock that Michael committed a social faux-pas; but in the annual Dunder Mifflin company picnic, he announced the the Buffalo branch would be shutting down whilst doing a comedy routine with Holly based around "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?". This led to the events of the fun day having a sour edge to them.
13. In the season 6 episode "Niagara", why does Andy have to go the hospital the night before the wedding?

Answer: A freak accident during a passionate dance-off

During a drunken dance-off with Kelly, Andy miscalculated the splits and ended up tearing his scrotum. Pam was the only person available and sober to drive him to the hospital, which we can assume wasn't part of her original plan for the night before her wedding.
14. In the season 6 episode "Scott's Tots", what does Michael give the children in exchange for not being able to supply them with college funds?

Answer: Laptop batteries

This episode is considered by many to be the hardest to watch as a result of how incredibly awkward it gets. Michael had promised a group of children years before college funds, but never managed to raised the money in the time since. What follows is Michael's pathetic attempt to appease the children through giving them laptop batteries.

This, however, only makes things worse as the children originally thought that they were being given laptops after seeing the packaging.
15. In the season 7 episode "Goodbye, Michael", what does Michael do with Dwight to ensure that they part as friends?

Answer: He plays paintball with him

In spite of always being loyal to Michael, Dwight felt a betrayal as Michael did not recommend him to be the successor to Michael's job. This is all forgiven however, as the 2 friends play one last game of paintball in the Dunder Mifflin parking lot on the day that Michael leaves for Colorado.
