Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. With her coding enhancements, Maeve is able to control Bernard's actions.

Answer: True

Having acted out of turn in Sweetwater, Maeve is brought to the labs for investigation and she's left in Bernard's care. She lies to him, and when he goes into her files he tracks that she experienced intense grief and suffering in addition to her other recorded emotions.

She's unable to explain her thoughts, tersely stating 'no' to his analysis. When he looks under the hood of her coding he finds the changes that were made and nearly calls Ford in before she stops him, recognizing him as a host she once knew. Bernard isn't sure what she means and gets up to leave, but she freezes his motor functions and stops him in his tracks.

She suggests that he clear her for return to the park as she has an engagement with a homicidal maniac.
2. William tells Logan that which of these is his goal?

Answer: To get Dolores out of the park

Logan has Dolores and William brought to the Confederato camp; he's been given a position in their army and they're now his prisoners. William tries to persuade Logan to use his contacts in Westworld to get Dolores out of the park since she's different from the other hosts, but Logan doesn't really take to the idea. Dolores wonders why they want to get her 'out' if they're all clamouring to get into Westworld, and this intrigues Logan a lot.

He says he'll help, just not in the way William wants. Bernard heads to Ford's office to speak to him and finds the place empty. Ford is actually on the cold storage floor of the labs; he meets Bernard down there and Bernard tells him that he's found some interesting bits of information. For instance, Arnold built his code. Bernard wants access to his history, no matter the cost.
3. When Logan stabs Dolores, he opens her up to find which of these?

Answer: Machinery

Bernard realizes that Arnold may still be in his memories, but he needs them unlocked, and while Ford says it may damage his mind, he's willing to find out no matter the risks. He has Clementine enter the room and explains that her prime directives were still intact after her lobotomy, and with a bit of coding, he's allowed her to hold a gun and fire the trigger, thus holding Ford hostage to follow through with the task at hand. Ford hits the button.
Bernard wakes up in his dream and revisits his memories, realizing that he murdered Elsie in the theatre.
In the Confederato camp, William is brought to watch as Logan grabs Dolores and assaults her. He has one of his men hold her and he stabs into her stomach, tearing her open to reveal her internal machinery. Discovering the truth, Dolores says that Arnold built the world to contain beauty. She grabs his knife, swipes at his face, and runs off with a gun. William says he'll find her.
4. What is inside the safe Hector stole from Sweetwater?

Answer: Nothing

Dolores flees into the darkness, falling to the ground once she's a certain distance. She quickly gets up when she hits the ground, and looks down to see that she's not injured before she keeps running. At Hector's camp, Hector heads out to relieve himself when Maeve comes across him bearing a shotgun.

She reveals his future, suggesting that his crew will kill each other over the safe they stole in Sweetwater. Sure enough, all goes as per what Maeve has foretold and she shoots Armistice with her shotgun before revealing to Hector that there never was anything inside the safe.

He decides not to kill her since she can get him the answers they both deserve. She says she'll get them both into Hell before setting their tent ablaze.
5. Where did Teddy say he last encountered Wyatt?

Answer: Escalante

At the Confederato camp, Logan tries to let bygones be bygones and William tells him what he wants to hear-- that Dolores was never real. After Logan unties William from his seat, the two of them share a drink and embrace. Logan is simply glad that despite the enthusiasm, it gave them a chance to get to know each other before they became brothers-in-law. Teddy awakens at his and the Man in Black's camp to find that the woman they found was part of Wyatt's gang all along.

They've been surrounded by Wyatt's men.

The woman suggests that they'll find Wyatt in Escalante, where they saw him last. That day, as Teddy recalls, they killed everybody and then Wyatt turned the gun on him too. When he probes deeper, however, he recalls that he, the former sheriff, was the one who killed all the people of Escalante.

The woman suggests that he isn't ready to reunite with Wyatt yet, but maybe in the next life. After she stabs him and leaves him to die, she tells the Man in Black that the maze was never for him and she knocks him out.
6. Who visits the Man in Black in the park after he escapes his own hanging?

Answer: Charlotte

The Man in Black awakens the next morning still tied, this time with a rope around his neck and strung over a tree; a horse is tied at the other end, and if it gets spooked he hangs. He slowly heads to Teddy's body to grab for the knife still lodged in his stomach and, fortunately, at the mast moment, he grabs it and severs the noose from the line. Charlotte emerges from the bushes nearby, striding up to him in high heels, and suggests that maybe he take up golf.

He refuses her suggestion. She says she's only there to inform him of Theresa's death and the halt of information leaving the park and, more importantly, for his vote to force out Ford despite the fact that it was his efforts that kept Ford in business all those years ago.

The Man in Black says that it's not Ford's narrative he's there to follow, so he doesn't care either way.

He leaves and asks that he not be disturbed any further.
7. What motivates Ashley to head into the park?

Answer: A signal from Elsie's device

In the command room, Ashley is informed of a behavior tech device being used in an unvisited sector out in the field; it's Elsie's device. Ashley decides to investigate it in-person, following the signal out to a clearing and losing the signal on his phone.

A group of natives emerges from the trees and, after his commands fail to freeze their motor functions, he's attacked. Logan wakes up, hungover, to find that the Confederatos have been killed; most were butchered in the night. William is still there too.

He tells Logan that he finally figured out how to play the game and now, Logan will have to help him find Dolores.
8. According to Ford, hosts were programmed to hear their programming as which of these?

Answer: Inner monologues

In cold storage, Bernard continues to receive his old memories and relives the loss of his son. He also recalls Maeve killing herself in the lab over the wiped memory of her daughter, realizing that they had attained some sort of empathy and retained memory despite their programming.

This soon begins to have an effect on Bernard; he begins to struggle with the logic behind his own programming. In the past he asked about Arnold and, in Ford's office, they discussed consciousness. The hosts heard their memories and programming as inner monologue.

In Escalante, they heard the fervent programming in their church. Dolores races back to the place from her memories-- the riverbend. There she stumbles back upon her memories of Escalante and the church there. Entering a confessional, she sat in her seat and emerged in the labs underneath the park to find the lab.

In the present day, she finds lab tech bodies strewn about the halls.
9. What was the name of Bernard's son?

Answer: Charlie

Ford says that he and Arnold created Bernard in their image and cursed him to their ways, and Bernard says that they were cruel by forcing him to relive the death of his own child. It's the thing his entire identity was based around. Arnold believed that the tragic hosts worked the best.

When Ford built him, he kept the tragedy in as an homage. Ford says that Bernard can't see Arnold since Arnold never built him-- it was he who built him. Nonetheless, Bernard believes he needs to revisit his very first memory.

He does-- it's of his son dying. Once again, he can't save him. He tells the doctors to stop; they do. He tells his son to come back; he does. Bernard realizes it's all a lie. His son is a lie; the loss is a lie. It's the only thing holding him back.

He decides to let his son go. When Bernard opens his eyes, Ford stands above him. His first memory is rising from the slab in the office. He also remembers learning how he should act. Ford says he doesn't really know what to call him, and they decide on Bernard.

He is the ideal partner, and after everything that has happened, Ford finally has Arnold back. As Bernard looks at the picture from Ford's desk, he realizes that he is Arnold.
10. Does Clementine fire the gun given to her?

Answer: No

Dolores recalls Ford searching for Arnold in the labs and finds her way to their offices then, descending the stairwells, finds herself in a basement room not unlike the one beneath the house in the woods Bernard located. In the past, she would have found a seat in a glass room and, there, she would have met with Arnold. She would have asked about the maze and about how it brought pain and terror. She would be told that he couldn't help and she would remember that it was because he was nothing more than a memory. She killed him. Dolores finds herself in the seat in the present day.
As Dolores emerges from the confessional booth she discovers that the church is real. The doors open and the Man in Black greets her, much to her shock.
Bernard tells Ford that he can resume his work and free the sentient hosts, but Ford says that they may not trust him any longer. Ford suggests that they've been through all of this before in the past, and he's needed his memories rolled back for the safety of the park and themselves. Bernard tells Clementine to pull the trigger, but due to a backdoor on all of the hosts, Ford is able to disarm her. Ford has Bernard walk over to Clementine, pick up the gun, and be ready to fire it at himself when he leaves the room...he has a new narrative to celebrate, after all. He suggests to Bernard that trust can't be placed in humans-- they are only human, after all. He says his goodbye and leaves the room as a gunshot is fired behind him and Bernard collapses to the ground.
