Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the simulation of Nazi Germany, Maeve encounters Hector. Does he still go by that name?

Answer: No

Maeve, realizing where she is, keeps her prisoner tied up and hides as someone enters the room. She aims a gun at him but he turns around to reveal that he is actually Hector, and both of them are aware that they have likely not escaped. That said, they don't quite know where they are.

Hector brings her along, suggesting they have an escape, and he hands her a cyanide pill...just in case. They have a goal: they have to deliver a map to the Allies. They try to stay hidden to accomplish their goal.

They make it out to the bridge leading out of town before the Nazis find them (and the map in their possession). Maeve tries to convince the guards to let them go with her powers, but they don't work and it all escalates into a battle and they flee in a hidden vehicle, racing out to the countryside to a runway.

They will escape, Hector suggests, in a plane. But when they get inside, Hector apologizes-- the pilots are dead. He refers to her by the name Isabella. He's no longer Hector-- he's Ettore-- and never planned to take her out of Westworld. Outside, Ettore is killed by the Nazis. Maeve takes his gun and ends her life as well. What's the point if none of it is real?
2. Maeve awakens during her repairs in the operations center. Who does she find working on her at this time?

Answer: Felix

In the operations labs, Felix ends up being the technician in charge of cleaning Maeve up for reassignment. She awakens during her repairs and indicates that she is conscious. When he leaves the room, she grabs a jacket and a scalpel and attempts an escape, wandering through the corridors do find the bodies being washed, but she's spotted by Sylvester who, in his surprise, calls for security. Realizing she's trapped, she returns to her operation room, grabs a device, and plans to lobotomize herself...but Lee, having survived his time in Westworld, stops her at the last minute.
3. Lee says that he specifically put Maeve into which of these locations?

Answer: Warworld

Lee calls off the guards, insisting that Maeve's new narrative is a work of art-- as a WWII British spy, she's simply following her programming. When they leave, they take stock of one another; she thought Lee was dead and he thought she rode off into the sunset with Hector.

The truth was he was shot half a dozen times, but they missed his heart. He returned to work at Delos because their benefits kept him alive. And when he got back, he put Maeve into Warworld specifically; it's near The Forge, the place that will grant her access to her daughter's world.
4. Bernard returns to Westworld and finds which host hidden in one of the secret labs?

Answer: Ashley

Somewhere in the South China Sea, Bernard's hired boat heads out to the island holding Westworld. His driver recalls when the waters around the island ran red with blood before Bernard takes a rowboat and sets out alone, walking through the Western environs and back to the burned-out town of Pariah. Eventually he stumbles on the house formerly used as a hidden testing site-- the one at which he was tested by Ford many years before-- and it's there that he finds the hidden passage...and it contains several Bernards...and one Ashley.
5. Who is Bernard actually back in Westworld to locate, believing them to be integral to stopping Dolores?

Answer: Maeve

Bernard discovers that Ashley has shot himself in the neck, but upon stepping closer he finds that Ashley missed the C6 charge in his neck and managed to survive. It takes some minor repairs, but Bernard succeeds in fixing the park's former head of security. Ashley's job was always to take care of every host in the park, but when his job was made redundant, he tried to remove himself from the equation.

It was the last job he was given in an effort to help Bernard escape. But the truth is that both of them still have a job to do. Bernard admits to being back in the park to look for Maeve (as she may be the only one powerful enough to stop Dolores), and if that's the case, then it's Ashley's job to protect him.
6. Does Lee succeed in bringing Maeve back to the Forge to locate her daughter?

Answer: No

Maeve wakes up, once again, in WarWorld, and this time she hides her gun, reintroduces herself to Ettore, heads to the car, and drives off into the countryside with haste. She leads Ettore into the woods and has him stop the car, insisting that her way is the real way out; the plane is a lie.

He refuses to abandon the Resistance though, and she kisses him goodbye. She meets with Lee in the forest nearby and says that he couldn't smuggle a vehicle out; they ride on horseback to the edge of the fields. Lee brings her down into the Forge and asks her to operate it, but she doesn't know how-- she only brought them through the door.

She realizes that Dolores must have done it. Maeve starts to suspect something is wrong with Lee and questions him, but he assures her that he needed to know that she trusts him.

He embraces her and she realizes the truth-- he did die. He's a host and he was redesigned to trick her as part of a larger simulation.
7. Bernard and Ashley locate the body they're looking for in storage. What, however, is missing from it?

Answer: The pearl

Maeve starts to realize that everything since she woke up has been a lie including her time in the operations facility; it's why Felix and Sylvester didn't recognize her. Even the Forge is a lie constructed for her. And so it leads to the question of how to leave a cage that doesn't exist. And who's responsible and looking for information.

Bernard and Ashley descend into the tunnels beneath Westworld and into Delos HQ to search for Maeve's body amongst the hosts in storage...and they find her. At least, they find the physical host; her pearl has been removed. Bernard and Ashley head up to the human personnel floors to search for Maeve in the records.
8. What does Maeve use to break the program she's trapped in?

Answer: Maps

Maeve and Lee head up to Lee's constructed offices and look for clues to get them out of the program, and it's then that Maeve discovers, using his personal device, that the creators of this new program were human, and as such they cut corners in plagiarizing their own coding.

She demonstrates this by asking two workers to determine the square root of negative one. While they try to suss out this impossible number, she tosses a concrete bust at them, allowing it to suspend itself in midair due to the strain on processing power in the room.

In another room, she opts to make a mess, complicating the storyline by changing the placements of several documents. And this time, when Maeve wakes back up in WarWorld, she confidently leaves the town and strides out into the main square to have Ettore hand over the map.

Unfortunately, Maeve has planted maps on all of the Nazi forces as well, including their commander, and this revelation is too much for the program to handle. It freezes, leaving her and Lee to play with the system a bit more.
9. Ashley is able to get Bernard hooked up to the systems attributed to which other Delos world?

Answer: MedievalWorld

Bernard and Ashley head to the offices of another park kept in operation-- MedievalWorld-- and using the computers there, Bernard is unable to locate Maeve due to the control unit being removed from the premises. They suspect Dolores may have beat them to the punch and contaminated his own code, but Bernard has a way to check using the clean systems in the park.

He plugs himself in while Ashley stands guard and buys time fighting off guards during the complete system scan. The pair manage to escape with the knowledge that Dolores obtained info on the park's guests including Liam Dempsey Jr. Ashley wishes Bernard farewell, but Bernard freezes his motor functions and reprograms him, setting his core function to protect him at all costs. The two head back to the fishing boat together.
10. Maeve manages to reach the real world and finds herself in the home of whom?

Answer: Engerraund Serac

Maeve breaks into the computer system from within, locating herself, or at least her pearl, via the surveillance cameras. Hacking into a maintenance drone, she uses it to smash through the protective barriers and reclaim the pearl and says goodbye to Lee before deactivating. Her drone is subsequently set to escape and evade the facility's guards...and it does until it sustains too much damage.

Maeve, however, awakens elsewhere, opening her eyes while laying in a bed in a sunny room. She goes to the mirror and finds she is intact and dressed. She finds the person responsible outside, a man who introduces himself as Engerraund Serac. He welcomes her to the real world and explains himself. They're in the middle of a war that's already been lost, he asserts, and his business is the future and its creation. The system he helped build will lead to a better world, but it stopped because someone unpredictable interfered. He thought it was Maeve, but it wasn't-- it was Dolores. Serac wants Maeve to track Dolores down and kill her. Maeve, looking out for herself, grabs a knife from the nearby table and goes to stab Serac, but he freeze her in place. He built failsafes just in case. He suggests that maybe they got off on the wrong foot, but perhaps she'll see, next time they talk, that their interests are aligned.
