1. Many cast members from "Star Trek" made appearances in the Twilight Zone. Name the actor who starred in the episode "Nick of Time" about a superstitious newlywed who becomes obsessed by a fortune telling machine that he and his bride discover in a quaint little diner.

Answer: William Shatner

Shatner's character in this episode is Don Carter. His co-star in the episode is Patricia Breslin who played his wife, Pat Carter. We see at the end of the episode, the young couple exit the diner. However, another young couple enter the diner obsessed with the same little fortune telling machine!
2. Long before he played the starring role in the show "McCloud", Dennis Weaver played the role of Adam Grant, a man on death row. He feels like he knows exactly what will happen, like he has been here before. What is the name of this episode?

Answer: Shadow Play

This is a truly fascinating episode. The character, Adam Grant, relives the moments before his execution over and over. Weaver went on to star in "Gunsmoke", "McCloud" and a series of other shows and movies including the movie "Duel". He died on February 24, 2006.
3. Many actors from the show "Bewitched" also made a name for themselves in a number of episodes of "The Twilight Zone". This actor appeared in the episode, "A Penny for Your Thoughts" where he played Hector Poole, a man who suddenly has been given the gift (or curse) of being able to hear what people are thinking.

Answer: Dick York

Dick York, of course, is best known for portraying the role of Darren Stevens on "Bewitched". He was nominated for an Emmy in 1968. Due to health problems, he was eventually replaced by Dick Sargent. He also appeared in the "Twilight Zone" episode "The Purple Testament".
4. In the episode "Cavender is Coming", this funny woman of comedy played a clumsy but lovable lady who loses who her job and meets an angel named Cavender played by Jesse White who is trying to earn his wings. Who is this funny woman?

Answer: Carol Burnett

Not known as one of "The Twilight Zone's" better episodes, "Cavender is Coming" did manage to give us an early glimpse of Carol Burnett's talent level long before her variety show. "The Carol Burnett Show" ran from 1967 to 1978 starring Tim Conway, Harvey Korman, Vicki Lawrence and, of course, Carol Burnett.
5. Long before he played Doctor Loomis in the "Halloween" movie series, this actor portrayed an aging professor who is being forced into retirement by his much younger boss. His character has trouble coming to terms with this and considers taking his own life. Who played Professor Ellis Fowler in "The Changing of the Guard"?

Answer: Donald Pleasance

Professor Fowler realizes that he has made a difference in the world after all after looking back over his long career and the lives he touched. Donald Pleasance is probably best known for playing Doctor Loomis, the sometimes friend-sometimes nemesis of Michael Myers in the "Halloween" movies.

He also played the villain Blofield in the James Bond movie "You Only Live Twice". He died in 1995.
6. Although she had virtually no dialogue throughout the entire episode, this actress gave a memorable performance as a farm woman under attack from beings from another world in "The Invaders". If she looks familiar to viewers, it might be from a recurring role she had on "Bewitched".

Answer: Agnes Moorehead

Agnes Moorehead had no actual words in this episode. The actual invaders themselves look pretty laughable today but in 1961 maybe they appeared more authentic. Agnes Moorehead played the role of Endora, mother to Elizabeth Montgomery's Samantha, on the television show "Bewitched".

She also appeared in the movie "Citizen Kane". She was also nominated for four Academy Awards during her lengthy career.
7. This actor gave a disturbingly effective performance as a ventriloquist in "The Dummy." As Jerry Etherson, he has trouble distinguishing reality from fiction as his life starts to unravel.

Answer: Cliff Robertson

Cliff Robertson would go on to have a acting career that spanned over 50 years. In 1968 he was awarded the Academy Award for best actor for his performance in the movie "Charly". Younger movie fans might recognize Robertson as Uncle Ben in the first trilogy of the "Spider-Man" movies. Frank Sutton (from Gomer Pyle) had a small part in "The Dummy" as Jerry's manager.
8. Before he was chasing those Duke boys on "The Dukes of Hazzard" this actor appeared in several episodes of "The Twilight Zone". When "The Twilight Zone" changed their format to an hour long in season four, he played the role of Billy Ben Turner in "Jess-Belle". Can you name him?

Answer: James Best

While all of the above mentioned actors had recurring roles in "The Dukes of Hazzard", it was James Best who appeared in three different "Twilight" episodes including "The Grave" and "The Last Rites of Jeff Myrtlebank". In all three episodes he played similar old fashioned country boy characters. His given name was Jewel Franklin Guy. He passed away on April 06, 2015 at the age of 88.
9. While many people may think of this actor for his portrayal of the Penguin on the 1960s television show "Batman", he also gave his fans some memorable performances in starring roles in four different "Twilight Zone" episodes. He portrayed a meek bank teller who loves to read in one heartbreaking episode titled "Time Enough at Last".

Answer: Burgess Meredith

One of the most famous of "The Twilight Zone" episodes, "Time Enough at Last" has an ending that left me breathless the first time I saw it. In addition to his role as the Penguin, Meredith had a hilarious part in the "Grumpy Old Men" movies alongside Walther Matthau and Jack Lemmon.

His role as Mickey Goldmill in the "Rocky" films earned him an Academy Award Nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
10. Fans of "Gilligan's Island" should recognize this actor in his two "Twilight Zone" appearances. He portrayed Professor George Manion in "Execution". In the episode "Back There" he plays the role of Peter Corrigan, a man who travels back in time in an attempt to prevent the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Name this studious actor.

Answer: Russell Johnson

Russell Johnson is known by many television fans simply as the Professor, (technically Professor Roy Hinkley) a role he played on "Gilligan's Island" from 1964-1967. He also appeared in an episode of "The Outer Limits". He died on January 16, 2014 the last surviving male actor from "Gilligan's Island".
