Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. An omnipotent being puts the captain and several crewmembers on trial as representatives of humanity. Meanwhile, the crew tries to figure out what's so great about this new station Starfleet may use.

Answer: The Next Generation

The episode is "Encounter at Farpoint." Q makes his first appearance and puts Picard (and others) on trial - trying to see if humans deserve to live in the universe. Meanwhile, they investigate Farpoint Station, which turns out to be a living being trapped on the surface.
2. Captain undergoes Vulcan mind-meld and sees what went on onboard the Excelsior during "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country."

Answer: Voyager

Tuvok was having a recurring nightmare so, naturally, Janeway undergoes a mind-meld to find out why. During the meld, Tuvok's mind keeps going to the events on the Excelsior. ("Flashback")
3. Pregnant woman can't carry baby, so a friend of her husband's volunteers for the job.

Answer: Deep Space Nine

Keiko O'Brien was wounded in "Body Parts." Bashir determined that it was necessary to implant the fetus into Kira's body. Kira then was invited to live with the O'Brien family.
4. A group of people who served together are drawn to an alien planet five years later where they turn into creatures which can only been seen by blacklight.

Answer: Next Generation

"Identity Crisis" is the episode where Geordi and his friends turn into invisible aliens. Only Susanna and Geordi are able to be brought back to their human forms as the other three were too far-gone.
5. While visiting a pre-warp culture, man loses track of his communicator. And this happened in the episode's first 5 minutes.

Answer: Enterprise

"The Communicator" - so Malcolm and Archer return to the planet to find the communicator, but get taken prisoner by the natives. Archer and Malcolm then do everything possible not to let their captors know they are aliens - which includes making them believe their enemy is creating 'super soldiers.' Next Generation had two similar episodes ("Who Watches the Watchers?" and "First Contact").

In "Who Watches...", no communicators were lost. In "First Contact," Riker just lost contact with his ship when he was injured.
6. Group of aliens thinks it would be fun to 'play' with the crewmembers in a World War II simulation after having taken over their ship.

Answer: Voyager

We find the Hirogen have taken over the ship in "The Killing Game" and wired almost the entire ship with holo-emitters in an attempt to learn more about 'their prey' (aka Voyager's crew). Their favorite simulation was the WWII one - where Janeway was the leader of a resistant movement in France. Also seen was a nice simulation of the Klingons - with Neelix as their leader.
7. Commanding officer is seen as a religious figure. In the last episode of this series, he actually fulfills his destiny as a religious figure by sacrificing himself.

Answer: Deep Space Nine

Although Picard was seen as a God on at least one occasion ("Who Watches the Watchers"), he never actually sacrifices himself in the final episode of the series. Sisko was seen as the Emissary to the Bajoran people and in "What You Leave Behind," he sacrifices himself so the pah-raiths (evil Bajoran spirits) will be trapped.
8. Captain spends night with Doctor to make sure his/her dog is all right.

Answer: Enterprise

Archer, for some crazy reason, brought his dog down to the surface of a planet. The dog ended up contracting some sort of disease and they had to transplant a new pituitary gland into the dog's head - while the dog was submerged in water. The episode ("A Night in Sickbay"), ended with Archer performing a ritual to apologise for his dog relieving himself and offending the native people.
9. The following happened in 6 episodes of the series: Mother of one of the officers comes aboard and drives the commanding officer crazy.

Answer: Next Generation

Lwaxana Troi, Deanna's mother, made 6 appearances on the series ("Haven," "Manhunt," "Menage a Troi," "Half a Life," "Cost of Living," and "Dark Page"). Mrs. Troi had a thing for Jean-Luc. In "Manhunt," he hid out in the holodeck. In "Menage a Troi" he had to recite Shakespeare in order to get her away from the Ferengi. And in "Cost of Living" he agreed to have her wedding on board because "it would please me to give away Mrs. Troi."
10. Captain forges first alliance with Borg.

Answer: Voyager

"Scorpion" is when Janeway decides that an alliance with the Borg is preferable to fighting Species 8472. The episode gets its name because Chakotay warned Janeway that an alliance with the Borg may prove fatal. The story went that a scorpion wanted a ride across a river and found an animal willing to carry it on its back.

The scorpion promised not to sting the animal, but broke its promise because stinging other creatures was its nature.
