Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of these black magic spells is the most elementary in the "Final Fantasy" series?

Answer: Fire

Rosa mentions this little tidbit in "Final Fantasy IV". It is also usually one of the first spells to be learned.
2. Let's say you are confronted with an undead monster and you're rather short on time. Which spell would be the quickest way to defeat them?

Answer: Life

Life will instantly kill most undead monsters. Fire and Cure are effective also but will not instantly kill them and Osmose was just one I threw in to mix it up.
3. Which of these spells appearing in "Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core" can inflict high amounts of damage as well as Stop, Silence, Poison, and Death?

Answer: Hell Thundaga

Dark Blizzara can only inflict Silence and Poison. Costly Punch is a rare materia which can inflict huge damage at the cost of some HP. Apocalypse is a DMW limit courtesy of Genesis.
4. Which of these spells, which incidentally the party cannot ever use, does Trance Kuja use in "Final Fantasy IX" to destroy his planet and even defeats the party with at the end of the game?

Answer: Ultima

Doomsday is a powerful spell learned by Vivi which damages everyone-including your party. Shock is a Seiken move used by Beatrix and later on learned by Steiner as a Sword Art. Ragnarok is just there to throw you off.
5. In "Final Fantasy VIII", how many Blizzard spells can be refined from one M-stone piece using the Ice/water magic refine ability learned from Shiva?

Answer: Five

M-stone pieces are some of the more common drops. As long as you have your refining abilities you should never really be short on these lower level spells.
6. Which of these spells in "Final Fantasy VI" can be learned from the Ragnarok Esper at a rate of x1?

Answer: Ultima

Haste is learned from Carbuncle at a rate of x3. Quick can be learned from Raiden at a rate of x1 and Fallen One is the name of one of Kefka's attacks.
7. Which of these enemy skill spells appearing in "Final Fantasy VII" costs 75 MP to cast?

Answer: Magic Breath

Trine costs 20 MP while Beta costs a slightly more expensive 35 MP. Pandora's Box costs a whopping 110 MP, which isn't really worth it since by the time you're far enough into the game to obtain it you'll already be using much better damage dealing methods.
8. What colour are the independent materia in "Final Fantasy VII"?

Answer: Purple

Black colour is reserved exclusively for the aptly named Black Materia. Yellow is the colour of command materia and green is the colour for magic materia.
9. Who integrates a Fire spell into most of their Limit Breaks in "Final Fantasy VIII"?

Answer: Seifer

Kiros doesn't use any type of magic in his Limit Breaks. Edea favours the use of ice magic and Cid is of course non playable although the thought of him using Seifer's limit breaks is quite amusing.
10. The Behemoth King from "Final Fantasy X" doesn't seem to take defeat too well. Which of these spells does he leave you with before departing for the Farplane?

Answer: Meteor

Flare and Ultima are two other powerful spells in the game but not the ones used by the Behemoth King. Requiem is the name of Seymour Guado's overdrive.
