Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "Call of Duty: Ghosts", what is the real name of Logan Walker's brother, "Hesh"?

Answer: David

Son to Elias and brother to Logan, David "Hesh" Walker also serves as the dog Riley's caretaker. The dog's original handler, Elias Walker, is also known as 'Scarecrow'.
2. Which of these rocking Ocarina songs could not be learned in the N64 "Zelda" title, "Majora's Mask"?

Answer: Zelda's Lullaby

Zelda's Lullaby, which appeared in the previous title "Ocarina of Time", can be heard in the background during the flashback scenes involving Zelda. However, Zelda (and her lullaby) are less important in "Majora's Mask", and the song doesn't serve much of a purpose.

The Song of Time and the Song of Storms, on the other hand, are equally relevant in "Majora's Mask", and the all-new "Oath to Order" summons the four giants at the end of the game!
3. What is the English title of the second game in the RPG series known as "Mother" in Japan?

Answer: "Earthbound"

Despite initially poor sales figure, "Earthbound" has by now easily reached the status of cult classic. The game's unique feel won the critics over, with its comic depiction of American culture in gameworld 'Eagleland', and since then millions of gamers worldwide have enjoyed the series.
4. What planet is the first game in the "Gears of War" franchise set on?

Answer: Sera

The first game in the series was released in 2006, and enjoyed excellent sales figures. Since then, a slew of sequels have emerged, as well as other merchandise such as board games, comic books, and even action figures.
5. According to hilariously sadistic "Portal" antagonist GLaDOS, something is a lie. What is it?

Answer: The cake

Voiced by Ellen McLain, GLaDOS (Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System) has received a huge amount of praise from various gaming magazines and has emerged as one of the standout gaming villains. One design concept for her was based on an inverted Botticelli's "Venus".
6. Which of these games was not published by Rockstar Games?

Answer: "Saints Row"

While it shares many similarities with Rockstar Games' "Grand Theft Auto" series, "Saint's Row" was actually originally published by THQ before being purchased by Deep Silver. Rockstar Games are known for their open-world, sandbox type games that often contain strong plot elements and/or references to popular culture.
7. How many squares make up a block in the original "Tetris"?

Answer: Four

As pure a gaming experience as they come, "Tetris" was first released in 1984, and designed by the Russian Game Designer Alexey Leonidovich Pajitnov. It's since received countless sequels, and numerous accolades. "Electronic Gaming Monthly's" 100th issue named "Tetris" the greatest video game of all time.
8. "Advent Children" is the film set two years after the events of which "Final Fantasy" game?

Answer: "Final Fantasy VII"

"Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children" finds the surviving characters of "Final Fantasy VII" two years on, reacting to a mysterious new illness infecting the planet ('Geostigma'). Critical reception of has been mixed, with the animations receiving the most praise, while the plot has been more divisive.
9. Which of these worlds did not appear in the original "Donkey Kong Country"?

Answer: Krazy Kremland

Donkey Kong has been around since 1981 - not bad for a character invented by a young first-time game designer with a budget of $100,000. Of course, not ever young game designer is Shigeru Miyamoto. Miyamoto, "the father of modern video gaming," went on to become a general manager of Nintendo, and oversee work on various other little-known titles, such as "The Legend of Zelda" and "Super Mario Land".
10. From which popular cartoon did Shigeru Miyamoto draw the inspiration for the first "Donkey Kong" game?

Answer: "Popeye"

Nintendo tried and failed to obtain the rights for a direct adaptation, but the basic plot remains. A large-built hairy antagonist, an every day hero, and a damsel in distress. Another obvious influence was the story of "King Kong", from which the name "Donkey Kong" clearly derives!
