Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of these Keys is found hiding behind the Lover's Relief?

Answer: Heart Key

Keys are notable items in the early "Resident Evil" games, appearing in most titles of the series that send the player through expansive indoor environments (like RPD in this game). Although both Leon and Claire will locate the Diamond and Spade Keys in their travels, only Leon will locate the Club Key and only Claire will get the Heart Key (from behind the small art piece in Chief Irons' Private Collection Room).

Interestingly, the two restricted keys will open certain parts of the RPD map that only their respective characters can access and visit, meaning you'll need to play both characters to see everything there is to see. Once you leave RPD once and for all, the keys are useless and can be discarded.
2. How many Medallions are needed to access the office beneath the Maiden's Statue in the RPD Main Lobby?

Answer: Three

Navigating just the RPD Building will only take you so far, and when you realize that the place is swarming with undead things, it'll be important to think of an escape route. The first thing to give the illusion of escape is the Maiden Statue in the Main Lobby, which can have its bottom drop out to provide access to a hidden office if you locate a Unicorn, Lion, and Maiden Medallion and place all three in the front console of the statue. Each is found in the RPD Building and each is protected by a three-symbol code.

These should generally be solvable using a notebook left behind in the building, but you might need to get clever with the darkroom...and a Detonator...to figure out the whole thing.
3. Six of which of these can be found throughout the game, increasing your carrying capacity?

Answer: Hip Pouches

Though the original versions of the classic "Resident Evil" games were very restrictive in their item capacities (and they varied from character to character), this game starts Leon and Claire off with a healthy amount-- eight item slots-- but with each Hip Pouch you can expand your inventory by two slots.

This means that if you manage to locate all of the Hip Pouches in the game, you'll end off with twenty slots, a boon to you if you're going up against the later game foes and need to carry strong, upgraded weapons, ammunition, and healing items.
4. The Mechanic Jack Handle can only be used in which room of the RPD Building?

Answer: Library

There's only one place to find this item, but it's approached in a different way whether you're playing as Leon or Claire since access to the Records Room, where the Mechanic Jack Handle is located, can only be accessed with their story-specific suit key (Club Key for Leon, Heart Key for Claire).

When combined with the jack located under the library shelves in the RPD Library, you can slide the archival walls together to form a bridge you can cross to head onward to the Clock Tower. The item, otherwise, has no use and can be discarded.
5. The Large Gear takes up four slots of inventory space.

Answer: False

Though this item is 'large', as per its name, it only takes up two squares of inventory space, the typical maximum for any item you might be lugging around in the game. Found in the East Storage Room up on the top floor of the RPD Building, this large piece of machinery is one of the major keys out of the RPD altogether since you need to use it (and a Small Gear) in the Clock Tower to get a critical item that will let you escape the Parking Garage.

In both Leon and Claire's campaigns, both gears are in the same locations.
6. Leon uses his two Power Panel Parts in the Jail. Where does Claire use hers?

Answer: The Private Collection Room

For Parking Pass Keycard, Claire and Leon both need to attempt to do the same thing in different locations. It seems that the RPD Building is using easy-to-disassemble power solutions because both of them need to bring parts to separate panels-- one in the Jail next to the Parking Garage (to open a jail cell for Leon) and one in the Private Collection Room in a locked cell containing Chief Irons' valuables (as Claire). Once you complete a small power-transfer puzzle you'll unlock access to the Parking Pass and be able to escape RPD, at least for the time being.
7. Which one of these chess-themed Plugs will be found in the Monitor Room, pretty much where it's meant to be?

Answer: Bishop Plug

The Pawn, Knight, and Bishop Plugs will all be in the Monitor Room, where you (regardless of if you're Leon or Claire) will need to complete a bit of a puzzle in regards to placing the right devices into the right boxes. There are six Plugs and you'll need to hunt down the King, Queen, and Rook deep in the Sewers. Once all six are plugged in, you'll face off against William Birkin, this time for the second time, in order to save Sherry and continue on to the last section of the game.
8. To navigate the Sewers you'll need a Valve Handle shaped like which of these?

Answer: Letter T

The T-Bar Valve Handle, in both campaigns, can be found on the Cable Car Platform found adjacent to the Sewers' Monitor Room. One of the most important navigational items of this segment of the game, it's used to permanently open great expanses of sewer passages and, in Leon's case, it can open the door to the Secret Room back up should you choose to take the elevator back up to the Main Lobby of the RPD Building.
9. The ID Wristband, can theoretically be upgraded how many times past the initial 'Visitor' classification?

Answer: Three times

As you descend into the NEST Laboratory you'll be able to use the Level 1 classification ('Visitor') to get into the lab's front area, but you won't be able to advance into the Main Shaft where all the goodies are until you upgrade using an Electronic Chip from an ID Wristband waiting in the Nap Room. Once you snag Dr. Li's Level 2 ID (for General Staff) you can go to the East Area and, hopefully, get your next chip (Level 3, Senior Staff) from the Greenhouse.

The final upgrade only really comes in Claire's story since Ada will hack the last impediment-- the elevator in the Main Shaft-- and you won't need the final upgrade from Annette's Wristband (for Admin status).
10. Which is not a channel you can set on the Signal Modulator?

Answer: UMB

The Signal Modulator, used by both Leon and Claire in the Laboratory, has five channels, and you can switch between them and fiddle with the dials to get the modulated signal just right if you try hard enough. The goal is to align the signals and use the device on designated power panels around the lab because doing so will activate the power for that area.

There are three such instances-- one for each wing-- and then the device is no longer necessary.
