Aiden Pearce was the main protagonist in game "Watch Dogs", which was released for multiple platforms by Ubisoft in 2014. Aiden Pearce was a master hacker who became a vigilante in Chicago after his niece was killed in a car accident. The accident was caused by a hitman who was attempting to assassinate Aiden.

Aiden was a former criminal himself who had botched a major heist with former colleague Damien Brenks. Damien had blamed Aiden for the heist going wrong, which left him partially disabled following the botched job. Damien spent the majority of the game attempting to exact his revenge on Aiden.
2. Arthur Morgan

Arthur Morgan was the main protagonist of "Red Dead Redemption 2", which was released for multiple systems by Rockstar Games in 2018. Arthur Morgan was a prominent member of a wild west gang led by Dutch van der Linde, who was the main antagonist of the first "Red Dead Redemption".

At the beginning of "Red Dead Redemption 2", Dutch's gang operated like a large family. However, as the plot progressed the gang slowly began to dissolve after many of its members left or were killed following a series of botched robberies. Micah Bell was also a member of the gang and it was later revealed that he betrayed the gang by ratting them out.
3. Booker DeWitt

Booker DeWitt and Zachary Comstock are characters from the game "Bioshock Infinite", which was released in 2013 by 2K Games for multiple systems. Booker DeWitt was a former American soldier and detective who was a veteran of the Battle of Wounded Knee in 1890. He was tasked with rescuing a young woman named Elizabeth from a floating city named Columbia. Elizabeth had a supernatural gift that allowed her to jump between different realities.

Zachary Comstock was the despotic leader of Columbia, a city that was highly advanced for the early 1910's, but was marred with racial injustice and prejudice. It would later be revealed that Zachary Comstock and Booker DeWitt were in fact the same person. Booker, who was feeling guilty about his actions during the Battle of Wounded Knee, attempted to cleanse himself by becoming Zachary Comstock in several of these alternate realities.
4. Cole Phelps

The video game "L.A. Noire" was developed by an Australian game company named Team Bondi and was published by Rockstar Games for multiple platforms in 2011. It featured protagonist Cole Phelps, an army veteran who became a police officer following World War II. His ability to find clues and interrogate suspects allowed him to become the most skilled detective in the Los Angeles Police Department.

Dr. Harlan Fontaine was one of the main antagonists of "L.A. Noire". He was a psychiatrist who became involved in several plots designed to take advantage of mentally troubled war veterans, including some of Cole Phelps' former army colleagues.
5. Ethan Mars

"Heavy Rain" was an interactive movie-style drama that was released by French video game developer Quantic Dream for the PlayStation 3 in 2010. Ethan Mars was the game's main protagonist and one of four playable characters. He was the father of two sons, Jason and Shaun. Jason was killed in a tragic accident, which led to emotional and marital troubles for Ethan. Later, Ethan lost sight of Shaun after blacking out at an amusement park. Shaun was kidnapped by a man known as the Origami Killer, who challenged the fathers of his victims to try and rescue their boys before they drowned in rainwater.

Scott Shelby was also a playable character in "Heavy Rain". He was originally portrayed as one of the protagonists, a private detective who was attempting to solve the Origami Killer case. It was later revealed that Scott was the killer himself as he was really collecting evidence from his victims and their relatives in order to keep his identity a secret.
6. Ezio Auditore

Answer: Rodrigo Borgia

Ezio Auditore da Firenze was one of the main protagonists of the video game "Assassin's Creed II", which was released for multiple platforms by Ubisoft in 2009. He was an ancestor of the game's other protagonist Desmond Miles. Ezio lived in Italy during the Renaissance. He became a member of the Assassins after his father and two of his brothers were executed in Florence.

Rodrigo Borgia (aka The Spaniard) was shown to be the leader of a group of Templars, who were enemies of the Assassins. He was attempting to find a "Piece of Eden", a powerful item left behind by an advanced civilization that inhabited the Earth long ago. He discovered that the item he was looking for was disguised as the Papal Staff. Borgia was able to get himself elected as Pope in order to gain access to it. Rodrigo Borgia was based off the real life Rodrigo de Borja who became Pope Alexander VI in 1492.
7. Jin Sakai

Answer: Khotun Khan

Jin Sakai was the protagonist in the game "Ghost of Tsushima", which was released by Sucker Punch Productions for the PlayStation 4 in 2020. The game takes place on the Japanese island of Tsushima and was inspired by the Mongolian invasions of Japan that occurred during the 13th century. Jin Sakai was a former samurai who had lost both of his parents. He was severely injured during a battle with the Mongols and later began using stealth tactics to exact his revenge on the Mongols, which was seen to be dishonorable by his by-the-book samurai uncle.

The main antagonist of "Ghost of Tsushima" was Khotun Khan, a ruthless Mongolian warlord who led the invasion of Tsushima Island. He was portrayed as a cousin of Kublai Khan, who was the real life emperor of Mongolia from 1260-1294. Kublai Khan was a grandson of the infamous Genghis Khan.
8. Niko Bellic

Answer: Dimitri Rascalov

Niko Bellic and Dimitri Rascalov were characters from the video game, "Grand Theft Auto IV", which was released by Rockstar Games for multiple game platforms in 2008. Niko Bellic was a Serbian immigrant who came to Liberty City at the request of his cousin Roman, who promised him a better life. However, things were not as peachy in America as Niko was led to believe. Niko would soon become involved with the city's criminal riff-raff.

Dimitri Rascalov was one of several major antagonists in "GTA IV". He was introduced as the subordinate of a Russian gangster named Mikhail Faustin. Dimitri had conspired with Niko to assassinate Faustin and was initially shown to be friendly towards Niko. However, Dimitri later turned on Niko and aligned himself with another Russian mobster named Ray Bulgarin who had history with Niko.
9. Sam Bridges

Answer: Higgs Monaghan

Sam Porter Bridges was the main protagonist in the game "Death Stranding" which was released for PlayStation 4 in 2019 and later for PC in 2020. "Death Stranding" was developed by Japanese game designer Hideo Kojima, who became famous for the "Metal Gear" franchise. Sam Bridges lived in a post-apocalyptic America, which had been devastated by a supernatural disaster. Sam was a professional delivery man who was tasked with crossing the barren country in order to bring supplies to the survivors and link them to a new type of internet known as the Chiral Network.

Higgs Monaghan was the leader of a terrorist group named Homo Demens. He wore a golden skull mask and had the ability to control BT's, dangerous ghost like beings made of anti-matter that had the potential to level whole cities.
10. Wei Shen

Answer: Henry Lee

Wei Shen was the protagonist of the game "Sleeping Dogs", which was released by Square Enix for multiple systems in 2012. Wei Shen was a police officer in Hong Kong, who went undercover in order to infiltrate the Sun On Yee, one of the most powerful gangs in the city. Wei was also a skilled martial artist and was able to utilize objects in the surrounding environment to take out his enemies.

Henry "Big Smile" Lee was one of the main antagonists of "Sleeping Dogs". He was a prominent member of the Sun On Yee, who were affiliated with the Triads, an organized crime faction based in Southeast Asia. Big Smile Lee became involved with a power struggle within the Sun On Yee, which led to the death of Wei Shen's best friend.
