"The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct" Quiz

Unfortunately this game of "The Walking Dead" does not pick up where season 1 of TellTale Games' version left off. Even if it did, Lee was killed in Season 1 and could not be an option either way. You pick up the story as Darryl Dixon. Struck by grief from losing his father to the walkers, you journey through the mountains to report his death to Merle.

Answer: Warren Bedford

Rick Grimes does not make an appearance in the game, considering that this is a prelude to the TV series. Ana Turner can be recruited, but not as a helping survivor (story character) to your group after saving her from walkers at the church. Maria Lee, who was partners with Ana, can be recruited, but is not your first recruitment.

Answer: "You're doing it wrong"

There are a few different ways you can die in the game. Either being killed by walkers, falling from a great height, or holding onto a grenade that's pin has been pulled can kill you.

Answer: Colt Anaconda

The .38 Marlin was a tempting answer, but it is used in the tutorial and left behind after Darryl's father is killed. The Colt Anaconda, found in a police station, comes with six rounds, which you should use wisely. The Benelli M4 Super 90 is the second firearm you pick up, found in the motel that the deputy asks you to search.

Answer: Scout

Scout is one of the most annoying characters in the game. Scout also betrays you, promising you supplies if you go and check on her partner in a building across the street. After doing this, she takes the supplies and flees the scene while you're on the mission and leaves a note stating "There was a survivor group that needed it more than you did". You later meet up and save her again at a church, and she joins your group.

Answer: Darryl Dixon

Lee Everett is dead, and even if he weren't, the story does not pick up where Season 1 left off. Darryl says this after receiving a mission from the cop, and hearing the cop repeatedly say "son" to end his sentences.

Answer: M17A1

The M16A1 is a fully automatic rifle, which was the furthest from correct choice. The next worst answer would be the M21A1, because it is scoped, whereas the M17A1 was not. The M14A1 and M17A1 are from significantly different time eras, and the M14A1 is no longer manufactured, nor has it been in many years (1984 was the last time it was manufactured).

The M17A1 is a 10 round clip semi auto rifle which is a common find in the game.

Answer: Merle Dixon

Merle says this while firing a .38 Marlin through the door, as Darryl tries to reach Merle. It is here where Darryl discovers that the crazy sniper Scout had mentioned was Merle.

Answer: Merle wants revenge on the biker gang for something

Merle tricked Darryl into reaching the bar, or he would never have let Merle go to the bar. After going here, Darryl gets knocked out and stripped of all his gear, and once you pick up Darryl's hunting knife, you are attacked by a walker who has Darryl's Strylexzone X4 Crossbow. After picking this up, you have it for the remainder of the game.

Answer: Sig Sauer P220

The Colt M1911, as the name entails, was manufactured and distributed from the year 1911-1989, much before the time period this game takes place in. The Glock 17 is seen in the tutorial as Darryl puts his own father down, but is never seen again. The Beretta 92FS is not seen in the entire game at all.

The Sig Sauer P220 is a 12 round per clip semi automatic pistol that comes too late in the game to effect your gameplay or help you in any serious way.

Answer: Back roads

Choosing to take the back roads, while time consuming, is the best pathway you can take. Going on the high road will frequently breakdown your car and you will pass by opportunities to get much needed supplies and meeting new survivors, while conserving less fuel (fuel is scarce, so you'll probably have to stop for more fuel anyway).

Answer: Machete

The Hunting Knife is the tool you start off with and cannot remove from your inventory. The Machete is fast and can kill a walker in two shots (if one of them is a charged strike). The Baseball Bat and Sledgehammer can kill a walker in one charged attack, but are both horribly slow and awful at fighting multiple walkers.

The Machete is decent at fighting one or two walkers, as it is fast, effective, and, if timed right, can remove the head in a charged strike off a walker. The Machete is ranked to have a "Fast Swing Speed" as opposed to the Sledgehammer and Baseball bat's "Slow Swing Speed" and all three of them have the same exact damage rate, making the Machete the best melee tool.

Answer: M4A1

The M4A1 is FAR less accurate than the other three options (Colt Commando especially). The M16A4 is also a three-round burst assault rifle, as opposed to the M4A1, which is fully automatic. The Colt Commando was invented in 1957 and manufacturing of it stopped all together when the Vietnam War ended in 1975, so you're highly unlikely to ever find one again.

The M27A1, while featured in "Call of Duty Black Ops 2", does not actually exist in real life.

Answer: Elephant Gun

The GAU-19 is one of the rarest weapons in the world, not likely to be in civilian hands ever. The Vulcan and M62A2 are both deployed only in tanks, not in Humvees. You're using the Elephant Gun to gun down walkers while Merle fixes the annihilated engine and radiator in the Humvee.

Answer: Truck

The truck you start in is crappy to say the least. It breaks down every marked location you find until you eventually pick up the Police Sedan at the Police Station.
