Herbert Hoover was the only president to reach this plateau. He was 90 at the time of his death.

Answer: 6

Six presidents were christened James. Monroe, Madison, Polk, Garfield and Buchanan used the name during their presidency. The sixth is Jimmy Carter, who was christened James.
