Good God, Dorkus. I asked for one word. Well, there's a first for everything, so welcome to yours. I knew this was a mistake. I'm out. Reply #1102. Mar 15 18, 7:30 PM |

"I guess you're listening now"...Van Gogh has long been one of my favorite artists, such a sad life for such a brilliant man. He only sold one painting in his lifetime, but his brother, Theo always promoted and helped him, and was loyal to him all his life. Reply #1105. Mar 15 18, 9:13 PM |

I'm sad at the deterioration of the friendships on here. It appears as if it is irreparable. It will pass, because all things do, but it was special for awhile. Reply #1111. Mar 15 18, 11:40 PM |

I always thought I was the most stubborn person in the world... Elle and I had a little disagreement, but due to being grown-ups and having bigger things to worry about, we are now talking via private mail and have long forgotten whatever it was. That's what friends and family do. Fall out, make up, be there for each other when they're needed, no matter what's happened. Grudges are like balls of razor wire; the only person they hurt is the one holding them. Reply #1112. Mar 16 18, 2:37 AM |

Did you guys all get the news about Stephen Hawking passing away? Now, that dude knew how to roll (pardon the pun) with what life dealt him! He managed to keep such a wicked sense of humour despite all of the adversity that was thrown at him, and didn't waste his brilliant mind boo-hooing over what he couldn't do. He focused on what he could do, and made sure he did it better than anyone else. Truly inspirational. What a man. We salute you, professor, and wish you wings on your journey. Reply #1114. Now I'm thinking about how much I wish I had wings. :-) So, if you guys could have one superpower, or mutation, what would it be? There was a show on when I was little called 'Space 1999', and one of the characters could shape shift into different animals, most frequently a tiger. Oh, how I ached to be like her! I went through phases as a child of wanting to be a dog, or a horse. Lots of my friends were dogs and horses (real ones) so it wasn't THAT crazy. No, really, it wasn't... Anyway, now I think I'd like to fly. Some days I can barely walk, so wings would be, like, awesome. :-) Reply #1115. Mar 16 18, 9:14 AM |

Jo, I certainly did hear about the passage of Stephen Hawking, and am saddened. Here is a man, who, regardless of his physical condition, brought the universe to millions of people, and did so with courage, style, and most of all, a tremendous sense of humor. Somehow, I will always remember him playing poker on Star Trek TNG or listening to his voice on The Simpsons. Like to think that he's in heaven playing a real hand of poker (wouldn't he be quite the opponent?) with Carl Sagan, Leonardo DiVinci, and Galileo, or perhaps dancing up a storm with Ginger Rogers. Rest in peace Dr. Hawking. Anne Reply #1116. Mar 16 18, 9:42 AM |

Jo, I used to believe somewhat in the Hindu philosophy of how you live your life, determines your next life. Well, I used to think that I was a dolphin in a past life, given my love for the Ocean and my ability to swim. Mark Reply #1118. Mar 16 18, 10:36 AM |

Mark, don't you believe that anymore? Me and the Viking were together in the Iron Age, I know we were. We were human, and we loved each other like we do now. This time round, when we met, it was like we'd known each other forever. He moved into my house after our first date (at a time when I wouldn't even tell other dates where I lived, never mind allowing them to come to my house), and asked me to marry him after three weeks. And I did. There's no reason to think that you weren't once a dolphin. When someone holds a special affinity for something, or is a natural at some skill, who can prove that it's not because they've had lots of practice in a previous life? You can't prove or disprove, you just know what you feel. :-) Reply #1119. Mar 16 18, 11:00 AM |

Jo, I still believe it deep in my heart of hearts, but no longer publicize it, because people have poo pooed it for many years, and I longer need the hassle of defending myself. Mark Reply #1120. Mar 16 18, 11:43 AM |
