Grab your passports!
Like our previous Globetrot Trivia Challenges, we will be stopping off at fifteen different locations and go exploring with quizzes inspired by the destinations selected. This trip should stretch participants to several new destinations. We have a few repeat countries, but completely different spots within them just to mix things up.
A destination will be posted here on this thread. Sometimes that destination will be very specific and sometimes it will be very vague, but either way, we’ll need to have two quizzes queued up before we move on to the next location. When those quizzes are queued, the next one will show. You can, of course, write for any listed destination, even if we move on from it, until the challenge is closed (usually a couple months after we reach the end.
So if we use an example: ‘The Eiffel Tower, Paris'. This means we need to queue two quizzes— anyone can submit them— before we continue on. The quizzes can be about the tower or about World's Fairs or about steel structures or Parisian landmarks or Paris itself or Gustave Eiffel, etc. As long as you can justifiably link the quiz's subject matter/content to the locations, it’s good! I would like to encourage authors to think outside the box. Use these prompts as an opportunity to spread yourself to parts of the site you may never have thought of before. Since players will be looking at these quizzes from a different angle in the future, it will be very helpful to avoid repetition!
Once we make our trip around the world, we’ll return to our starting location in some way. Last time, we started in Mexico and ended the route in Mexico again.
All you need to do is post when your quiz is submitted, and when there’s two we’ll move along. The quiz doesn't even need to be online yet! Think of it as a teaser for the players. ;)
Oh yeah-- and all quizzes submitted for the Globetrot challenges will play a strong part in a future game for the site. Just to put that out there. So the more, the better!

Then we're off to the Lombardy Region of Italy! Our first destination is one of Italy's most interesting and picturesque locations, home to the cities of Milan, Varese, Como, and Bergamo. It's a home to movie stars in the north; it's a cosmopolitan fashion capital in the city; it's the gateway to the Alps; it's a land of glacial lakes. Looking forward to more Lombardy quizzes, but we're also going to open the path to Switzerland! Less than an hour north out of Milan, it's a short train ride into this alpine nation known for its cheeses, chocolates, army knives, banking, clocks, neutrality, and gorgeous sites. Great, I've only got 3 questions left so I can finish it within the next couple of days. Btw, a heads up. It's inspired by the 'Chalet School' books as a lot of the later ones are set there (for non-CS fans, it's a big long series about a fictional girls' boarding school), BUT you don't have to be a fan of the books to do the quiz.
