I'll go with Worldwide, though that might be optimistic. Last year I did better but I likely won't have much time this year--as is apparent from my already scaled-down writing attempts for the past few months, where I've just barely scraped the Author Gallery requirements (I'm still working on the October ones, by the way!). Who knows--this might be the motivation I need to get cracking! ;) Reply #21. Oct 22 23, 3:50 PM |

Worldwide = 50 points. Hope to do more but don't want to over-commit Reply #23. Oct 23 23, 1:08 AM |

Good luck to Triviaballer! It seems to get a lot harder than last year to aim at the highest goal. Reply #25. Oct 23 23, 9:16 AM |

The goal this time around was to flip it out of a numbers game a bit more than we have in the past. We don't want to avoid the core of the month-- writing-- but with as many different ways to contribute nowadays, it doesn't really feel fair to put a Collection quiz on the same question tally as a crossword (for example). People should feel free to keep tally if that's the benchmark they want to set for themselves-- same as the last decade and a half. Might be a good stretch project for anyone who hits the 200 points and wants to keep building. It's definitely achievable! Reply #26. Oct 23 23, 9:21 AM |

I will commit to National, probably a quiz and ten single questions, or, two quizzes. Reply #28. Oct 23 23, 1:37 PM |

I can resist a good challenge, and I am home again, so I'll go for Universal. Reply #30. Oct 25 23, 6:15 AM |

Can you lock this on the top so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle that way it's easy to find the list of what to make during the month, please? Reply #31. Oct 25 23, 6:24 AM |

I'll aim for Galactic. Should be doable with the other challenges that will appear. Reply #32. Oct 25 23, 7:17 AM |

I am upping my sights - my original goal of National is just the Gallery quizzes, after all - and definitely aim for Worldwide plus. Galactic may be too far, though. Reply #33. Oct 25 23, 12:32 PM |

All I can say is WOW! I need to do some thinking before I commit to a level, but, of course, I want to participate! Reply #34. Oct 26 23, 10:10 AM |

Do we have to set ourselves a target in advance? Or may we just post quizzes as and when, or if, we write them, and see what total we achieve? Reply #36. Oct 27 23, 2:36 PM |

There is no need to post a target at all. A lot of people find that is a useful motivator, as the effort to achieve their pledge spurs them on. But at the end of things, there is no public reference to it, just a description of everyone's achievements. So feel free to just write and post, if that is what works for you. Reply #37. I'm going to shoot for Universal: specifically 20 crossword puzzles, one per category. I have something of a theme to tie them together. Reply #38. Oct 28 23, 2:55 AM |

I'll probably aim for Galactic with Cosmic as a stretch goal if I make enough progress. One thing to be said for quiz writing month being around the corner is that it's motivating me to shift the marking I need to do this weekend so I can spend my next couple of weekends on quiz writing! Thanks for the clarification, L-T. At this time of year I don't need any extra stress levels, which is what would result from even a self-imposed target. So now I can relax over that and see what happens, if anything. Reply #40. Oct 28 23, 6:31 AM |
