The break up came following the departure of Robbie Williams. Robbie went on to have a very successful solo career and for a while it seemed like Take That were down and out. In 2005, Take That entered the public eye once again after they released their "Greatest Hits" album and featured in the ITV show, "Take That: For the Record". Shortly after this, they announced their return into the world of pop and quickly followed with tracks such as "Patience" and "Shine". Their 2007 track, "Rule the World" failed to get to the number one spot (peaking at number two), but its longevity in the charts led to it becoming the fifth biggest selling single in the UK charts that year.
Take That have taken on a completely new image, moving away from the typical cheesy boy band image. They and their songs have been used to promote several things, such as the Robert De Niro film, "Stardust", the supermarket Morrisons, and the shop Marks & Spencer.
