Answer: Christine stops him

Christine tells Raoul that it wasn't the way for him to die. This also shows that she has some feelings for him.

Christine was the understudy for Madame Biancaroli. Claudin wanted her out of the way so that Christine's voice could be heard.

Answer: Chorus and The Phantom

The first time we hear this is during the song "Masquerade". The chorus, or the whole cast, sings this. This is the opening song for Act 2, when Andre and Firmin throw a masquerade ball for New Years Eve. They also hadn't seen the Phantom for a long time. In all their celebrations, the Phantom returns to scare everyone once again.
We hear it again at the end of the musical, sung by the Phantom. After "Down Once More", and Christine chooses Raoul over the Phantom. He is playing his music box which plays "Masquerade". He no longer has his mask on and is crying. He nearly whispers, he sings this so softly.

Answer: It says so on Christine's gravestone.

It says on Christine's gravestone that she was a loving mother and wife. Which in fact means that she had children. However, we never actually see the children in the film.

Answer: monumental

This is one of the last songs in the 2004 movie in the scene where Emmy Rossum (as Christine) is walking through the cemetary. She gives a very dramatic performance as she sings this song. Christine goes to the cemetary to visit her father's grave. Her father had died when she was young; he was a famous violinist.

'Like yellow parchment is his skin...' was the sentence in Buquet's song. Mme Giry was angry with Buquet because she didn't like anyone making a mockery of the Phantom's appearance, as he was known as the 'Devil's Child' during his childhood.

Answer: Piangi had been found murdered.

This was the one point in the movie where the audience truly saws some emotion for someone besides herself in Carlotta's personality. It turned out that Piangi wasn't just a lapdog for her, when the camera last photographed her, she was seen weeping over his lifeless body.

Answer: a trapdoor on the stairs

After 'The Point of No Return', Madame Giry shows Raoul the route to where the Phantom has taken Christine. Keeping his hand at the level of his eye as she cautioned, he falls through the trapdoor, landing in a pool of water. A grate designed to keep him below the water, where he will drown, begins to descend. He is able to turn the underwater release for the grate, but arrives on the wrong side of the portcullis that guards the Phantom's lair. This leaves him vulnerable to the Phantom's noose.

A cowl, for those who don't know, is "The hood or hooded robe worn especially by a monk." The Phantom's is black like his frock.

Lot 665 (the monkey) is what Raoul is taking there and the rose with the black ribbon around it is there because that is what The Phantom would leave Christine after every performance.

Answer: Smashes the mirrors

He smashes a few of the large mirrors and then finally comes upon the one that leads to somewhere else. As he passes through that final mirror, the Phantom moves a curtain in front of the mirror so the mob would be slowed down a little.

Carlotta opens the door to leave the opera and the crowd turns and starts surging towards her. A man waved something towards her and asked if she could see that Miss Daae received it. That's when the managers begin singing "Prima Donna" to try and make her feel better (in addition to giving her many gifts).

After the Phantom kills Joseph Buquet, Christine drags Raoul to the roof, and she tells him that the Phantom is real and that she's seen him.

Minnie Driver does actually sing over the ending credits, and on the soundtrack. It is a song Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote especially for her called "Learn to be Lonely", and it was nominated for a Golden Globe for "Best Original Song". Minnie Driver's singing voice was dubbed because Carlotta needed to sound like an actual Opera singer, and Minnie could not reach some of the notes.

This is the last line of the musical. This after the Phantom sees Christine run away with Raoul. He realizes he will never have Christine and that she will never love him. It is such a heartbreaking moment for him, as he realizes he can never give Christine what Raoul can. Without Christine, the Phantom has no muse. She was the only person who could help him make music. Without her, there is no music of the night to sing.

Answer: We see the rose and ring on Christine's gravestone.

You know he's alive after Christine's death, because he places a rose with her ring on it, on her grave. And like the other roses that he gave her, it has a black ribbon tied around it.

"The Phantom of the Opera" story took place in Paris, France in the 1800's. This story is wonderful and many people think it could be real... maybe it is...

This was during the performance of 'Il Muto', after the Phantom called out 'Did I not instruct that box five was to be kept empty?' This caused many disruptions. Meg said 'It's the Phantom of the Opera.' followed by Christine saying, 'It's him.' Carlotta heard Christine speak and said to her, 'Your part is silent, little toad.'

Christine fought for Raoul's life because she loved him so much. While Raoul was pleading with Christine to leave, because it didn't matter if the Phantom killed him, as long as Christine was free. Finally, Christine walked slowly to the Phantom, as her dress literally floated in the water around her, and kissed him on the lips, putting her arms on him, showing him pity. But just after the Phantom and Christine parted, the mob could be heard in the background. The Phantom freed Raoul and told the young couple to take the boat and leave, to forget all they'd seen there. After the two had left, the Phantom disappeared, leaving only his mask behind, to be found by Meg.

He wears the moulded half mask for most of the movie, a full mask with blackened eye rims and gashes formed to look like stitches for the New Year's masquerade party, and a different full mask for his role of Don Juan in 'The Point of No Return' number. This mask does not cover his forehead, which is smooth but is later revealed to be disfigured, when Christine takes it off of him in front of the full house.

After declaring their undying love for each other, Christine and Raoul hurry off and the Phantom is left alone on the roof. He sings these words to himself as he takes a moment to mourn the loss of Christine. Then, suddenly, his sorrow is replaced with anger and he swears to himself that he will have his revenge: "You will curse the day you did not do/ All that the Phantom asked of you!". This also marks the half-way point in the movie.

When the angry Paris citizens finally find their way to The Phantom's lair Meg walks around, finds the mask, and then takes it.

They saved it until the end of this production for artistic purposes I guess. The movie starts when they raise it up, and the story comes to a close shortly after it falls.
