In the LDS Church's "Joseph Smith--History," (abbreviated hereafter as JSH) Smith gave the date and described praying for forgiveness for his minor sins in bed that night. He told of seeing the Angel Moroni appear before him in a brilliant white light and wrote that Moroni "said there was a book deposited, written upon gold plates, giving an account of the former inhabitants of this continent, and the source from whence they sprang. He also said that the fulness of the everlasting Gospel was contained in it, as delivered by the Savior to the ancient inhabitants..." (JSH 1:27-34)

7 In 1 Nephi Chapter 14, Nephi is writing about some of the things he saw in a vision. After Nephi has written many things, the Lord forbids Nephi to write more, saying that someone else had been ordained to write those things. Who was it?

Most people probably think that Nephi meant that his parents were righteous by calling them "goodly" parents. While Lehi and Sariah were undoubtedly righteous, it's also possible that Nephi was referring to their many possessions. Lehi is introduced in 1 Nephi 1:4, and Sariah in 1 Nephi 2:5.

9 Chapter 1: Who is the narrator of the book of Ether?
Answer: Moroni

He was referring to the vision he reported upon Moroni's first visit: "While he [Moroni] was conversing with me about the plates, the vision was opened to my mind that I could see the place where the plates were deposited, and that so clearly and distinctly that I knew the place again when I visited it." (JSH 1:42)

Mosiah 27:34 lists these four sons of Mosiah. The angel appeared to them in Mosiah 27:11. Alma was with the sons of Mosiah when they were converted, and they all later became missionaries who did a lot of good for the church.

Nephi and Sam were two of Lehi's sons. Lehi was happy for Nephi and Sam as they were righteous and were striving to follow the commandments of God.
