All of the girls were supposed to go see a Ryan Gosling movie together but Eve and Mandy had already seen it. They had trouble keeping the truth from their mother and finally spilled the beans at the theater. Vanessa chastised them for not waiting and the theater crowd got angry that they were all talking when the movie started.

At that point Victor informs Mike he is not dying but he is keeping it a secret from Ryan so he can bond with his son again. He goes to the second doctor and finds out on the hunting trip he really is dying but only after he admits to Ryan he had been lying the first time about dying. Now he really is dying yet again. To say it was a mess would be an understatement.

She learns later on from Kyle that Mike was actually very understanding with Boyd and told him it was okay to cry when he fell down. This changes her mind about her father at least a little bit.
An interesting exchange happened between Kristin and Mike when she asks him if he is going to meddle up until the day he dies and Mike replies, "And beyond. I have a very specific will." The phrase 'and beyond' is a line from his character in the "Toy Story" movies, Buzz Lightyear who always says, "To infinity... and beyond."
