1. Al Pacino

Al Pacino was born on April 25, 1940, in Manhattan, New York. He had a troubled childhood and dropped out of his local high school to attend the High School for Performing Arts. He learned method acting under acting coach Lee Strasberg, His film debut was with a bit part in "Me Natalie", starring Patty Duke in 1969. Director Francis Ford Coppola cast him as Michael Corleone in "The Godfather" (1972), and his acting career never looked back!
2. Bette Midler

Born in 1945 in Honolulu, Hawaii, Bette Midler was enamoured from a young age with singing and acting. In 1965 she was in the chorus of Broadway's "Fiddler on the Roof", and was later given the role of Tzeitel. Barry Manilow produced her first record, "The Divine Miss M", in 1972.

She won a Golden Globe for New Star of the Year in a Motion Picture - Female in 1980 for her performance in "The Rose", and, in 1990, won Record of the Year for "Wind Beneath My Wings".
3. Arnold Schwarzenegger

The former Mr. Universe was born in Austria, and, in 1968 at the age of 21, moved to the USA. His film debut was in "Hercules In New York" (1969), and this was followed by a huge body of films, including most recently "Terminator: Dark Fate" (2019), "Iron Mask" (2019), and "Fubar" (2023).

He has also written numerous books, and was elected to the position of Governor of California in 2003.
4. Mel Gibson

Though he is sometimes thought of as an Australian actor, Mel Gibson was born in Peekskill, New York, in 1956, and moved with his family to Australia when he was 12 years old. His first debut film was "Summer City," which was released in 1977, but he gained notoriety with his role in the 1979 "Mad Max" film.

He was awarded the Australian Film Institute Best Actor for his role in the iconic Australian movie "Gallipoli" (1981).
5. Emma Thompson

This down-to-earth actress was born in London in 1959 into an acting family. Created a Dame in 2018 in recognition of her four decades of acting, she has been the recipient of two Academy Awards, three BAFTA Awards, two Golden Globes and a Primetime Emmy Award.

Her talents and adaptability are demonstrated by the broad range of things in which she has starred, from movies to stage to television, comedy, horror and classics like Shakespeare. Her first film role was in the 1989 romcom, "The Tall Guy".
6. Tom Cruise

Thomas Cruise Mapother IV debuted in "Endless Love", which was made in 1981. He was born July 3, 1962, in Syracuse, New York. Cruise has a long string of credits in successful movies, including his role as Ethan Hunt in the "Mission: Impossible" (1996) film, the 2002 film "Minority Report", "The Last Samurai" (2003), and "Jack Reacher" (2012).

In 2006, he was ranked by "Forbes Magazine" as the world's most powerful celebrity; he is often in the news for his antics. He is an aerobatic pilot and owns a jet.
7. Viola Davis

Viola Davis was born in 1965 in Saint Matthews, South Carolina. She graduated from the Julliard School in 1994. Davis won an Oscar for her performance in "Fences" (2016), and has been nominated numerous times for other roles, including her Emmy winning Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series part for her work in ABC's "How To Get Away With Murder" (2014-2020).

This was history-making as Davis was the first black woman to win this award. In addition, she has achieved the rare feat of winning each of the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards.
8. Adam Sandler

Born in 1966, Adam Sandler is a New Yorker, the youngest of four children. As a young man of 17, he started his career in comedy doing stand-up comedy with his brother, later gaining a Bachelor Qualification in acting from the Tisch School of the Arts.

He appeared on the Cosby Show in 1987, and joined the cast of "Saturday Night Live" (1990-95). Sandler also appeared in movies, such as "Coneheads" (1993), "Mixed Nuts" (1994), and "Billy Madison" (1995). He was the recipient of the Kennedy Center's Mark Twain Prize of American Humor (2023).
9. Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway was born on November 12, 1982, in Brooklyn, New York. She won an Academy Award for her performance in "Les Misérables" in 2012, but is probably best known for her 2001 role in "The Princess Dairies" and her performance as Andrea "Andy" Sachs in "The Devil Wears Prada" (2006).

A versatile actress, she was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Outstanding Variety Special (Live) award in 2011, and won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance for her voice role in a 2010 episode of "The Simpsons".

She also starred in the all-female spin-off of the "Ocean's Eleven" franchise, "Ocean's 8".
10. Anya Taylor-Joy

Born in 16 April 1996, Anya-Josephine Marie Taylor-Joy started her acting career at the age of seventeen in small television roles, but was offered the leading role in the horror film "The Witch" in 2015. Born in Miami Florida, Taylor-Joy received her first Golden Globe Award nomination playing Emma Woodhouse in the 2020 period drama, "Emma".

She is known for her starring role as an orphaned chess prodigy, Beth Harmon, in the Netflix miniseries "The Queen's Gambit." She is also a voice actor, voicing Princess Peach in the animated film "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" (2023).
