A headband can be made from most materials. An elasticated, narrow strip made from cloth is a good choice. Headbands have been around for hundreds of years, dating back to the ancient Greeks. 4. Usually associated with the big top, Whiteface, Auguste and Hobo are all which type of performer?

Answer: Clown

Whiteface or classic clowns are the oldest of all clown types. All their flesh is covered with white makeup together with a red mouth and black eyebrows and they are usually the ringleaders. 5. One of the most popular radio shows of all time in the US was centered around a character, Fibber McGee, and his wife. What was her name?

Answer: Molly

"Fibber McGee and Molly" was a radio comedy series that ran from 1935 until 1959 on the NBC Red Network. Built around the story of a working class man prone to telling whoppers on a regular basis, his exploits as he lurched from job to job, his exasperated but fond wife, standard punch lines and gags, this entertainment format has been repeated many times in other shows over the years both on radio and television.

The two main characters in the show, Fibber and Molly, were played by real life married couple, Jim and Marian Jordan, who were wed in 1918, and stayed lovingly that way until Marian's death from cancer in 1961. Jim eventually married again, but on his later death in 1988, was buried next to Marian, his life long partner in comedy.

8. The term "Jumbo" comes from the name of a famous elephant from the 19th century. What was the name of the circus where Jumbo the elephant first appeared?

Answer: Barnum & Bailey Circus

Jumbo the elephant became the star attraction of the Barnum & Bailey Circus in the late 19th century. Born in 1861 in what is now Eritrea, Jumbo was first part of the London Zoo before being sold to circus impresario P.T. Barnum in 1882. The transfer caused a public outcry in Britain, where Jumbo was a popular figure. Once in America, Jumbo's immense size - over ten feet tall at the shoulder and weighing around 6.5 tonnes - captivated audiences and made him a nationwide sensation.

His name quickly became synonymous with anything exceptionally large, giving rise to the term "jumbo" in common parlance.
