"The Enormous Crocodile" was written by Roald Dahl in 1978. Humpy Rumpy was a hippo that lived in a jungle in Africa. A hungry crocodile tries to eat Humpy Rumpy as the crocodile is making his way through an African jungle to get to a school playground. Humpy-Rumpy saves two children from being eaten by the crocodile who was disguised as a coconut tree.
2. Trunky

Trunky was an elephant who lived in the African jungle. While eating leaves out of a tree, Trunky was bitten by the crocodile. Trunky saved a group of children from being eaten by the crocodile when they thought the crocodile was a bench. He swung the crocodile into the sky where the crocodile was burnt up by the sun.
3. Muggle-Wump

Muggle-Wump was a monkey that lived in the African jungle. The crocodile tried to eat Muggle Wump while the monkey was eating nuts in a tree, but Muggle Wump was able to get to another tree before the crocodile could get him. Muggle Wump saved the kids at the playground from getting eaten by shouting to the kids that the seesaw was actually the crocodile.
4. Roly-Poly

Roly Poly was a bird in the African jungle. Roly-Poly was eating berries in his nest when the crocodile came across him. Roly-Poly lost a few tail feathers barely getting away from the crocodile. When the crocodile went after the kids at the playground, Roly-Poly shouted out for the kids to get away from the merry-go-round where the crocodile was disguised as a ride.
5. Jill

Jill was the little girl saved by Roly-Poly, the bird, when she was going to get on what she thought was a wooden crocodile on the merry-go-round. Because Roly-Poly thwarted the crocodile's plans, the crocodile had to try a new tactic to get food.
6. Mr. Hoppy

"Esio Trot" was written by Roald Dahl in 1990. It is an anadrome (a word spelled backward to make a new word) of the word 'tortoise'. In the book, Mr. Hoppy lived in the flat above the woman with whom he was in love.
7. Mrs. Silver

Mrs. Silver lives in the flat below Mr. Hoppy. She has a turtle named Alfie who she loves dearly, but wants Alfie to get bigger. One day, Mr. Hoppy devises a plan to use several store-bought turtles of different sizes to trick Mrs. Silver into believing Alfie is getting bigger.
He keeps all the store-bought turtles of different sizes in his flat above Mrs. Silver's flat and uses a claw mechanism to change turtles out every few days.

Alfie is a turtle that belongs to Mrs. Silver. He lives in a small house Mrs. Silver bought for him on her deck where he brumates (a type of turtle hibernation) during the winter months.

After Mr. Hoppy proposed to Mrs. Silver and she accepted, Mr. Hoppy took all the turtles that he had purchased back to the pet store. A little girl named Roberta Squibb bought the first turtle Mr. Hoppy purchased.
10. Toad and Snail

"Dirty Beasts" was a book of poems written by Roald Dahl in 1983. "Toad and Snail" was a poem about a little boy that was playing in the lily pond when a large toad came upon him and took the little boy on a ride to different cities. When the toad and little boy landed in France, the French people wanted to eat the toad. The toad assured the little boy that everything would be all right and then the toad changed himself into a snail.
When the French people still came after the little boy and snail with forks and knives, the snail changed into a bird and flew the little boy back to the lily-pond where they first met. The little boy decided not to tell anyone because he knew no one would believe him.
11. Porcupine

"Porcupine" is about a little girl that gets her allowance every weekend if she's been good during the week. When the little girl gets her allowance she uses it to buy sweets and heads off to find a place to sit and eat them. The little girl sits on a porcupine thinking it's a mound of dirt and gets prickles in her behind. Her mom doesn't want to pull them out, so she takes her to Mr. Meyers, the dentist, who pulls teeth every day.
The little girl lay down in the dentist chair while the dentist pulled the prickles from her behind and then charged the mother for his work. The little girl left the dentist with her mother realizing that porcupines have prickles so that no one would dare try to sit on them. Then she warned the readers to look before you sit down.
12. Ant-Eater

"Ant-Eater" was a poem about a spoiled little boy who realized he had everything he wanted except an ant-eater. The family bought a man's pet ant-eater from India and had him shipped to the United States. Roy, the spoiled boy, made the ant-eater look for ants instead of feeding him. When Roy's aunt showed up for a visit, the ant-eater ate her and then ate Roy for dessert.
13. Cow
Answer: Dirty Beasts
"Cow" was a poem about Miss Milky Daisy, a cow who sprouted silver and gold wings. People came from different places to see Milky Daisy fly. One day she heard a man hurling insults at her and dropped a cow patty on his head.
14. Tummy Beast

"Tummy Beast" is a poem about a little boy who complained to his mother about a person living in his tummy always begging him to eat more food. The little boy tells his mother, who accuses him of lying.
As the little boy was on his way to bed as punishment for lying, his stomach became bigger and a man's voice could be heard out of the little boy's stomach hollering for food. The little boy asked his mother if she heard the voice, but the mother had fainted dead away.
15. Scorpion
Answer: Dirty Beasts
"Scorpion" was a poem about a scorpion named Stingaling. A little boy cried out to his mother that something was crawling up his leg underneath his bedsheets and he thought it was Stingaling. The mother thought he was joking until the little boy jumped out of bed screaming out because Stingaling had a hold of his bottom.
