Match the character to the character description. All information is from the books, not the films - there's at least one character in here where the film changed some of the things in the character description.

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Close friends with Fred and George Weasley, well-known for his Quidditch commentary

Answer: Lee Jordan

Lee is a prankster, often working together with Fred and George on their schemes. His Quidditch commentary is known for being very entertaining, but biased - especially when his House team, Gryffindor, are playing. These commentary skills later serve him well during "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" when Lee is the voice of Potterwatch, the defiant secret radio show being run on the wizarding wireless in support of the quest to defeat Voldemort.

As a security measure, a password was required to access these radio shows.
2. Daughter of one of the Hogwarts founders, aided with finding one of the Horcruxes (a diadem)

Answer: Grey Lady

The Grey Lady's name is really Helena Ravenclaw, and she is the daughter of Rowena Ravenclaw. The diadem originally belonged to Rowena, and it was rumoured to be able to sharpen a person's wits. Helena stole the diadem and hid it, only to die shortly after at the hands of the individual who would later become the Bloody Baron, Slytherin's Hogwarts House ghost.

She would later to be charmed by a student named Tom Riddle into revealing its location, leading to him turning it into a Horcrux, as he was seeking an item relating to each of the four Founders.

She does later relent and admit this story to Harry.
3. Potions professor and former head of Slytherin house, who taught Tom Riddle about Horcruxes

Answer: Horace Slughorn

Dumbledore specifically recruits Slughorn back as a member of staff to try and get him to reveal what, exactly, he told Tom Riddle as a student. He intentionally introduces him to Harry, planning to use one of Slughorn's defining traits - he often had his favourites, had an eye for seeking talent and those who would go far, and would facilitate contacts and provide information. Slughorn had a club called the Slug Club, which was invitation only; it was a space for these individuals who he identified where he would encourage them all to meet together. Predictably, Slughorn invited Harry to this, as well as Hermione due to her intelligence, and Harry seeks to try and get him to fully reveal what information he imparted upon Tom Riddle.
4. Tortured to insanity by Bellatrix Lestrange, has a son in Gryffindor, resides in St Mungo's due to the permanent spell damage

Answer: Frank Longbottom

Frank and Alice Longbottom were excellent Aurors, as well as members of the Order of the Phoenix. When Snape overhead Trelawney's prophecy and delivered the section that he had overheard to Lord Voldemort, it seemed as if it could have applied to two children, both born to those who had thrice defied him at the end of July: Harry Potter or Neville Longbottom. Dumbledore states that Voldemort made the choice of going after the child who was more like him: the halfblood, not the pureblood.

However, this did not mean that the Longbottoms got away unscathed. Bellatrix Lestrange gave Frank and Alice prolonged exposure to the Cruciatus curse, which permanently addled their minds and led to them being full-time residents of St Mungo's hospital, unable to even recognise their own son and certainly not capable of taking care of him. Now living with his grandmother, Neville would visit them at the hospital and treasure anything that they gave to him, even if it was as mundane as sweet wrappers.
5. Mistakenly believed to be dead for many years, unregistered animagus who lived as a rat, traitor to his friends

Answer: Peter Pettigrew

Originally believed to be murdered by Sirius Black, in the centre of a bloody scene with twelve dead Muggles and only his finger to be found, Peter had actually cut off his own finger before transforming into his rat form and vanishing. This was after the death of Lily and James Potter, who had been protected by a Secret Keeper in order to keep their location a secret from Lord Voldemort. Everybody who knew about the Secret Keeper believed it to be Sirius Black, James' best friend who came from a very dark family. However, unbeknownst to others, a decision was made to switch to Peter instead. Even Remus Lupin, another close friend of the Potters but who was also a werewolf, was not told.

This meant that after their death, Sirius was blamed - for the murder of Muggles and death of Peter, too (who had shouted loudly about his betrayal).

Peter lived for many years as the Weasley's pet rat, Scabbers, and while he did go back to serve Voldemort when the truth of his own actions were revealed, he noteably did not make any attempt to harm Harry in those years before Voldemort returned despite often residing in the same room.
6. Has a twin sister in Gryffindor, goes to the Yule ball with Ron

Answer: Padma Patil

Despite the films placing Padma in Gryffindor, in the books she's actually a Ravenclaw, which gets commented on as a point of interest - identical twins, yet being sent to different Houses. At the Yule ball, Harry took Parvati as a date, and it was due to Harry's request that Padma and Ron ended up going together.

However, Ron was not particularly interesting in dancing or really participating much in the Yule ball at all, too sullen about Hermione going with Viktor Krum, therefore it did not particularly go well (while Hermione was annoyed with how long it took Ron to even realise that she was a girl and thus invitable).
7. Female Slytherin student, has a pet cat

Answer: Millicent Bulstrode

Millicent's not a particularly prominent character in the books, although in "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" she is the target of Hermione, who is brewing polyjuice potion so that they can impersonate some Slytherins and gain information about the Heir of Slytherin. Hermione decides to take a hair from Millicent to transform into her, but, unknowingly, Hermione actually selects a cat hair. The polyjuice potion, not intended to be mixed with animal fur, therefore goes somewhat wrong and Hermione is mortified. At the time Hermione uses this fur, Millicent isn't even still at the school - she's gone home for the holidays.

Millicent later becomes a member of Umbridge's Inquisitorial Squad in "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix".
8. Hufflepuff student who got petrified in his second year of school

Answer: Justin Finch-Fletchley

Justin heard the rumours of Harry being the Heir of Slytherin in "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" and was visibly distrusting and fearful of him. Harry's proximity to some of the attacks really didn't help. When Harry got revealed as a Parselmouth, his fear seemed to ramp up more: speaking to snakes is strongly associated not just with Slytherin house, but Salazar Slytherin himself. Hearing Harry speak to a snake, but not understanding what he was saying, appeared to him to just be him encouraging the snake.

Justin's opinion of Harry was not exactly kept secret, so when he was found petrified alongside a very much affected Nearly Headless Nick (who as a ghost could not die again himself, but who saved Justin as he only saw the basilisk through Nick) this just reinforced the idea that perhaps Harry had targeted him due to his open distrust of Harry.
9. Gryffindor student, Chaser on the Quidditch team, put under the Imperius curse in a failed plot

Answer: Katie Bell

As of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince", she and Harry are the only members of the Quidditch team that was introduced in "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" remaining at school, and she retains her position despite Harry carrying out try-outs for all positions.

She gets caught up in the plot targeting Dumbledore. While visiting Hogsmeade, she is put under the Imperius curse, and it is intended that she deliver a cursed object to Dumbledore. The curse on the necklace in question is intended to be fatal, but Katie becomes accidentally exposed to it.

As she is not fully exposed, she fortunately does not die, but does end up in debilitating pain and ends up having to recuperate in St Mungo's for a long period of time.
10. Former Hufflepuff, now Auror, member of the Order of the Phoenix, metamorphmagus

Answer: Nymphadora Tonks

Nymphadora Tonks hates her first name and prefers to only be known as Tonks. Her father is a Muggle, Ted Tonks, and her mother is Andromeda Black. This was scandalous due to the Blacks being a noteable pureblood family who had a dislike of Muggles and half-bloods, and were staunch supporters of Voldemort and blood-purism. This leads them to be some of the many people to be blasted off the Black family tapestries, effectively disowning them.

Tonks gets into a relationship with Remus Lupin and has a child with him, Teddy, although she unfortunately doesn't survive to the end of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" - she is killed by Bellatrix, her mother's sister.

As a metamorphmagus, she can change her appearance at will, and she often does so, in no way attempting to hide her abilities.
