Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:
There are many ways to express the idea of being mistaken, and not all sources consulted agree on all of them, so if you think I'm mistaken in my use of some words, perhaps we can talk about it.
If one has blundered it is probable that they have made a major blooper, flub or gaffe, while being confused might involve a minor mix-up. A faux pas might be something embarrassing, either to the doer or to a companion, while being off base might lean towards being rude to another person, whilst being incorrect about them.
Being deluded often means one wants to believe in someone, no matter how wrong their ideas and actions might be. Erroneous information could be dangerous, especially if it concerns elements of concern to personal safety.
