Cooperstown, New York is the home of the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame. The city is in upper New York and the Hall was founded in 1936. You can find historical baseball artifacts including Hank Aaron's bat and Babe Ruth's uniform.
2. Alligator Alcatraz
In the summer of 2025, Florida Governor Ron De Santis has a migrant detainment facility built in the middle of the Florida Everglades. The name references the huge population of alligators in the Everglades and the isolation of the location similar to Alcatraz Prison in California.
3. Alamodome
The Alamodome is a huge stadium built in 1993 for $183 million dollars and located near downtown San Antonio, Texas. Paul McCartney christened the stadium with the first performance at the stadium. The site has been home to the Men's NCAA Basketball Final Four, major concerts, and even the WWE Royal Rumble.
4. Where You Could See a Dall Sheep or Walrus
Alaska is home to many animals not found in the contiguous United States. Dall sheep are known for their thick curved horns and are native to Alaska and northern Canadian regions like the Yukon and the Northwest Territories. If you want to see a walrus outside of a zoo, you'd head to Alaska. The large marine animal is known for its long tusks, wrinkly skin, whiskers, and flippers.
5. Joshua Tree National Park
The rock band U2 fell in love with the Joshua Tree National Park during their visit to the United States in the mid 1980s. The isolation of the desert and the exotic plant life including iconic cacti lends itself to a deeply pensive and spiritual mindset. You can visit the National Park in the Mojave Desert in southern California.
6. Nike World Headquarters
Beaverton, Oregon is the home of the Nike World Headquarters, it's located near Portland. Known for their brands like Jordan and Converse, the sporting goods corporation is led by Phil Knight. Phil and Bill Bowerman were involved with Oregon track and field and bought Blue Ribbon Sports. They kept the company in their home state.
7. Miller Brewing Company
There is a good reason why the Milwaukee Brewers are named for a beer company. Milwaukee, Wisconsin is nicknamed the "Brew City". The city was the previous home of Pabst, Schlitz, Miller, and Blatz beer. Miller Brewing Company was founded in 1855.
8. Atchafalaya Basin
New Orleans isn't the only major landmark in Louisiana. The Atchafalaya Basin is the largest wetland and swamp in the United States. The gigantic cypress-tupelo swamp is formed in the lower Mississippi River valley where the Atchafalaya River meets the Gulf of America.
9. Millenial Park and "The Bean"
Head to Chicago, Illinois and you will find the iconic Cloud Gate, piece of art. Nicknamed "The Bean", one of the world's largest public displays of art, is a 110 ton stainless steel structure built to look like an ellipse that reflects the city's skyline. It was built by British artist Anish Kapoor.
10. White Sands National Park
White Sands National Park is a gorgeous national treasure located in New Mexico. The world's largest gypsum dunefield covers over 275 square miles and is known for their white sand, wave-like dunes, and home to many ancient fossil discoveries.
