Separate the mountains, seas, and deserts. There is one per continent. When "mountain", "desert", or "sea" is part of the name I have removed it, for obvious reasons. In other words, "Mount Fuji" would be just "Fuji", and the "Pacific Ocean" just the "Pacific".

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Kilimanjaro

Answer: Mountain

Tanzania - The highest free-standing mountain in the world (you know, like a natural CN Tower) famous for its snow-capped peak rising out of the African savanna. It's also the subject of a Hemingway short story.
2. Sahara

Answer: Desert

Africa - A massive expanse of sand dunes stretching across northern Africa, matching the size of the entire United States. It is kind of what you think of when you think of a desert.
3. Red

Answer: Sea

Between Egypt and Saudi Arabia - A narrow, high-salinity sea known for some of the world's most vibrant coral reefs and disputed shipping lanes.
4. Vinson

Answer: Mountain

Antarctica - The highest peak on the frozen continent, buried deep in the Ellsworth Mountains and rarely seen by human eyes. It is probably one of the "Mountains of Madness". If you don't know, then please go read some H. P. Lovecraft. And yes, I know it wasn't discovered until after the story was written..but I like to believe.
5. Antarctic

Answer: Desert

Most of Antarctica - Technically a desert because it receives almost no precipitation, it is the largest desert on Earth. Also, a frustrating answer on any trivia night...LOL.
6. Weddell

Answer: Sea

Off the Antarctic Peninsula - A treacherous, ice-choked sea containing some of the clearest water ever recorded by scientists. It's located in the crook of that tentacle looking part sticking off of the side of Antarctica.
7. Lut

Answer: Desert

Iran - A surreal, wind-sculpted landscape that regularly clocks the hottest land surface temperatures on Earth. It really looks like something out of a fever dream.
8. Banda

Answer: Sea

Indonesia - A remote, deep sea in the Maluku Islands with vibrant marine biodiversity and volcanic islands.
9. Qomolangma

Answer: Mountain

Nepal/China - Qomolangma is another name for Everest. The highest peak above sea level on Earth, drawing hundreds of climbers, too many of them unprepared, to the Himalayas every year.
10. Puncak Jaya

Answer: Mountain

Papua New Guinea - A limestone peak located on the island of New Guinea, featuring rare tropical glaciers. Tropical glaciers...amazing. You must go and look up pictures of these amazing structures...before they disappear.
11. Great Victoria

Answer: Desert

Australia - A vast, arid landscape of red sand hills and grasslands running across Western and South Australia.
12. Coral

Answer: Sea

Australia - An underwater wilderness off Australia's northeast coast that feeds and protects the Great Barrier Reef.
13. Matterhorn

Answer: Mountain

Switzerland/Italy - When you think mountains two images probably come to mind. Mt. Fuji in Japan and the Matterhorn in Europe. This is so perfect it is nearly unbelievable. Sadly, while the mountain is still there, Toblerone removed it from their packaging in 2023.
14. Tabernas

Answer: Desert

Spain - This is Europe's only true desert, located in Andalusia and used as a filming location for classic Western movies, especially the "Spaghetti Westerns".
15. Tyrrhenian

Answer: Sea

Part of the Mediterranean - Located between the western coast of Italy and the islands of Sardinia and Sicily, this sea has active underwater volcanoes and deep trenches.
16. Denali

Answer: Mountain

Alaska - The tallest mountain in North America, and has a super-sharp base-to-peak rise and brutal sub-zero weather.
17. Carcross

Answer: Desert

Yukon, Canada - Measuring just one square mile (2.6 km2), this is often called the smallest desert in the world, formed by ancient glacial silt. It really is weird to look at...more things for the bucket list.
18. Salish

Answer: Sea

USA/Canada Coast - A network of coastal waterways running between Washington State and British Columbia. It has large resident orca populations.
19. Chimborazo

Answer: Mountain

Ecuador - Ok, so...this is technically the highest mountain in the world, measured from the centre of the Earth...you know, bulges and all. It is an inactive stratovolcano and Yours Truly summited this mountain waaay back in the day.
20. Atacama

Answer: Desert

Chile - A hyper-arid plateau wedged between the Andes and the Pacific. It is the driest non-polar place on Earth and home to a bunch of astronomical observatories.
21. Caribbean

Answer: Sea

Between Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela - A sapphire-blue basin full of coral reefs, pirate history, and thousands of paradise islands. Go travel there and you will probably run into the ghost of Jimmy Buffet.
