Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Cupid's Match

Answer: Lauren Palphreyman

Lila Black is a high school student, whose best friend, Crystal, secretly submits Lila's name to the Cupids Matchmaking Service as a joke. Lila doesn't believe in matchmaking services, but lo and behold this matchmaking service is the real deal, as it is run by actual, real cupids - they don't look like the cherubic babies we see in mythology, but they are indeed an ancient and powerful organization.

In their system, Lila winds up getting matched with one of the actual cupids, but that is forbidden by their own rules.

But he does desire Lila. And she, him. The consequences just might be catastrophic.
2. Her Purrfect Match

Answer: Milly Taiden

Jessica Marting and Robyn Neeley have also written romance novels with the tile "Her Purrfect Match", but this one, by Milly Taiden, is a part of her Paranormal Dating Agency, which along with this book includes "Twice the Growl", "Geek Bearing Gifts", and "Curves 'em Right".

In "Her Purrfect Match" Alyssa Moran fears becoming an "old cat lady" and so pays a visit to the Paranormal Dating Agency and tells the matchmaker there, Mrs. Wilder, about what she's looking for in a man. Her list includes: likes cats, wants kids, likes her curves and will be wild in bed.

She is matched with Grayson Green, a shape shifter. The two have instant chemistry. They face danger and challenges, for which Grayson's ability to become a wolf or lion proves helpful.
3. Make-Believe Match

Answer: Melanie Harlow

Lexi wants to save Snowberry Lodge, the family's ski resort that has been struggling, and she winds up agreeing to a marriage with Devin Buckley, whom she distrusts after having a one-night stand with him in the past, and because he works for the company that wants to tear down Snowberry Lodge.

But Devin has a plan. He approached Lexi with a proposition: marry him and he'll make sure the lodge is returned to its former greatness, which will at the same time wreak revenge on Devin's former bosses.

Then once he and Lexi have achieved their goals, they can go their separate ways. Lexi didn't count on actually falling in love with Devin, though.
4. A Match in the Making

Answer: Jen Turano

"A Match in the Making" is a historical romance novel set in the Gilded Age, following a young woman named Gwendolyn Brinley, who becomes an assistant matchmaker for the wealthy elite of New York City. This was an unexpected turn, added on to her responsibilities by her employer, a famous matchmaker named Mrs. Parker, who became ill.

Her most challenging client is Walter Townsend, who, although is highly sought after, is also irritating to Gwendolyn. He's a widower with three mischievous children.

But soon the two start to find themselves attracted to each other.
5. Match Me if You Can

Answer: Susan Elizabeth Phillips

A romcom of a romance novel, this story follows Annabelle Granger a woman who inherits her grandmother's matchmaking business. The business isn't thriving, so Annabelle sets her sights on snagging a very high-profile client - a sports agent named Heath Champion, nicknamed "Python". "Python" for his ruthless negotiating skills, of course, why else? What were you thinking? Anyway, if she could nail him as a client, she'd become Chicago's hottest matchmaker. So, she plunges into finding him a wife, while he tries micromanaging her every move.

They grow more attracted to each other, of course.
6. The Matchmaker

Answer: Elin Hilderbrand

Dabney Kimball Beech has lived in Nantucket all her life, and fancies herself a natural matchmaker, someone with a genuine talent for sensing when two people were meant to be together. She's put that gift successfully into practice. But on a personal level, she's having romantic issues. Married to economist/Harvard professor John Boxmiller Beech, the two have grown a bit apart over the years.

But she remains devoted to him and their daughter Agnes. Then her first love, Clendenin Hughes, returns to Nantucket after spending decades abroad and becoming a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist. Dabney never got over him. And ... action!
7. The Perfect Match

Answer: Kristan Higgins

Honor Holland is a 35-year-old winemaker at her family's vineyard in Manningsport, New York, population 715. Things start out disappointingly for Honor, as she is rejected by the man she thought was "the one." Things start to look up, though, when she meets a British professor named Tom Barlow - he is a single father and is hoping to marry an American woman in order to secure a green card.

It's another marriage-of-convenience story when Tom proposes the idea to Honor of getting married, but not out of love, but instead for that ability for him to stay in America. Honor can't deny, at least to herself, that she finds Tom to be charming, and handsome.

She accepts the offer. And soon enough they both start having strong feelings for each other.
8. Royally Matched

Answer: Emma Chase

Prince Nicholas Frederick Pembrook is the younger brother of Prince Henry, who was the lead character of the first book ("Royally Screwed") in this "Royally" romance series by Emma Chase. Prince Nicholas had been dubbed the "Playboy Prince" by the media because of his rather carefree gallivanting (how very unroyal-like! Gasp!), but soon enough circumstances call for him to step up and take on some royal family responsibilities.

In the hopes that he can foster a more mature image, he agrees to star in a reality TV show called "The Royal Edition" whereby he will choose a bride from amongst a variety of candidates appearing on the show.

He's actually not crazy about the idea at first, but when Sarah Mirabelle Zinnia Von Titebottum enters the picture, things change. Sarah works on the show as a historian/consultant, and what appeals to Nicholas is her wit and her not getting all giddy about his royal status like the contestants on the show are.

His feelings for Sarah grow. As they interact, Nicholas is able to get in touch with his more serious side. Pressure from the show complicates things, though.
9. Well Matched

Answer: Jen DeLuca

Here's a romance novel with a Renaissance Faire background. Picture barmaids, wenches, gallant knights and all those sorts entertaining the visitors. April Parker lives in Willow Creek, a small quaint town, and she's looking at being an empty nester in her near future.

She's a single mother who teaches high school. She has been focused on providing stability in her and her daughter Caitlin's life, and now Caitlin will soon be leaving for college. Then there's Mitch Malone, a gym teacher and regular performer at the nearby Renaissance Faire; in that role he wears a kilt and wields a sword as his Highlander character.

He's a lot looser a person than the more strait-laced April, but he asks her a favor - to help him out with some things at the Renaissance Faire - and in exchange he will help her get her house ready to be put up for sale.

They become friends in the process, and April loosens up, getting in touch with her playful side. And conversely, Mitch starts to think about the more grown-up serious aspects of life, like settling down and building a future. You see where this is going.
10. What a Match

Answer: Mimi Grace

Gwen Gilmore is dating around, and her meticulous nature knows what she wants in a man. She feels like she doesn't want to waste a lot of time on multiple dates not working out, so she decides to seek out the help of a matchmaker. But here's the rub - Gwen has a brother, Duncan, who has a best friend named Anthony Woods, a charming firefighter, who has always had a crush on Gwen. And when apartment problems come down on Anthony (renovations, lease) he needs a temporary place to crash and that winds up being Gwen's apartment, where he will sleep on the couch.

They start to become close, and soon Gwen wonders if she should stick to the plan outlined for her by the matchmaking service, or see where things can go with Anthony.
