When he initially gets to New York, Bob is told that Woody was in a hospital in New Jersey so he has to go back to where he just came from to meet him. Woody is in Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital suffering from Huntington's Disease. Bob wants to meet Woody because he is hoping "to catch a spark" from him as he says it as to why he wanted to meet him.

Bob's first live performance at Folk City is a big hit with the crowd. He is introduced by well-known folk singer Pete Seeger.
