Answer: jocks doing sports news

The words to this rap are:
"Time to rap about a controversy. Gonna take a stand.
Won't show no mercy. A lot of folks say jocks shouldn't be

Ted Danson rapped with Steve Guttenberg and Tom Selleck in "Three Men and a Little Lady" when Mary requested a rap song before bed.
2. In "Pudd'n Head Boyd," the Cranes return from their cruise, and Frasier sings, "Daylight come, and me wanna go home." How does Lilith respond?

Answer: You're not the only one.

Frasier and Lilith are both stressed out from working, so Sam suggests they take a vacation. They clear their schedules to follow Sam's advice. They go on a cruise to "Nassau, St Thomas, Martinique and other exotic ports of call."

They return from their trip, and Frasier has been annoying Lilith with his calypso. They go up to Melville's for lunch, and Frasier sings "The Banana Boat Song," Lilith responds with, "You're not the only one."
3. When the gang at Cheers sings "Deck the Halls" on "Christmas Cheers," who plays the piano?

Answer: Frasier

Woody is standing next to the piano while Frasier plays. Sam and Carla are behind the bar talking about Rebecca's dinner later. Then "It's a Wonderful Life" comes on the TV, and everyone goes to watch the end of the movie.

Kelsey Grammar really does know how to play the piano, though not a professional player.
4. When Cliff and Norm discuss the book that Frasier is reading, "Lust Justice," what song does Frasier sing when he plugs his ears?

Answer: Dixie

Frasier doesn't want to hear what will happen in the book, so he sings to tune Norm and Cliff out. Later, he tells them the endings of "Citizen Kane," "Murder on the Orient Express," and who Luke Skywalker's father is.

"Dixie" was written in 1859 by Daniel Decatur Emmett.
5. What song do Cliff, Norm, Frasier, and Sam sing when they crash Carla's sleepover in "Slumber Party Massacred"?

Answer: Duke of Earl

"Duke of Earl" was written by Gene Chandler, Bernice Williams, and Earl Edwards in 1961. Chandler recorded it in 1962. In 2002 it was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

Carla is depressed about becoming a grandmother, so Rebecca, Lilith, and Lilith's friend, Dorothy, throw a slumber party to cheer her up. The guys then crash the party, singing "Duke of Earl" to try and cheer her up. Carla asks everyone to leave and says something will happen to cheer her up. Cliff bends over and splits his pants, and that is the something that makes Carla laugh.
6. In "The Big Kiss Off," Sam Malone enters the bar wearing an Army uniform to try to get Rebecca to kiss him before he leaves. It doesn't work because Carla has already told Rebecca about the kissing contest. But then Rebecca calls him over to speak privately. What song do the guys start singing?

Answer: Over There

"Over There" was written by George M. Cohan in 1917. Cohan was proud to tell people he was born on the Fourth of July, although he was actually born on July 3rd. However, he wrote a lot of patriotic music, such as "You're a Grand Old Flag."

The guys were singing it to Sam because they figured if Rebecca wanted to speak to him, he was about to win the bet.
7. In "Please, Mr. Postman," we learn what Cliff's favorite song is. So, what is it?

Answer: Ballad of the Green Berets

The "Ballad of the Green Berets" was written in 1966 by Staff Sergeant Barry Sadler. The Green Berets are a special forces branch of the United States Army. Sadler wrote the song during Vietnam as a patriotic song.

Cliff tells the others at the bar, "Anyone who isn't totally moved by that song is somebody I don't want to know."
8. In "The Cranemakers," Lilith and Frasier decide to live off the land and give up modern conveniences. What song does Lilith sing while Frasier tries to start a fire by rubbing two sticks together?

Answer: My Funny Valentine

All the choices were written by Richard Rogers and Lorenzo Hart for the musical "Babes in Arms" in 1937.

Frasier asks Lilith to sing something while he tries to make a fire, and she says she only knows one song. He tells her to sing it, so she sings, "My Funny Valentine." Bebe Neuwirth, who played Lilith, is a great singer and has been in "A Chorus Line," "Chicago," "The Adams Family," and "Damn Yankees" on Broadway. She played all three leading female roles: Velma Kelly, Roxie Hart, and Matron "Mama" Morton.
9. In "The Gift of the Woodi," Woody writes Kelly a song for her birthday. Complete this line from that song, "Kelly my darling, you are my sunshine. Your smile is so lovely; your hair is so ______."

Answer: clean

"The Kelly Song" has Kelly's name in it 28 times. Woody Harrelson, who played Woody Boyd on the show, really did know how to play the piano.

I also wrote an entire quiz on "The Kelly Song," which you might like to check out.
10. In "The Two Faces of Norm," Sam Malone sells his Corvette and gets a cheaper car. What song does Sam's new car prompt the guys at the bar to sing?

Answer: Volare

"Volare" is also known as "Nel Blu, Dipinto Di Blu." It is a song from 1958 by Domenico Modugno.

The guys at the bar learn from Carla that Sam bought a Volare car, so they sing the song "Volare" (Italian for to fly) to tease him about the type of car he purchased.
11. What song does the barbershop quartet sing on "The Stork Brings a Crane"?

Answer: Wait Till the Sun Shines, Nellie

"Wait Till the Sun Shines, Nellie" was written in 1905 by Harry Von Tilzer and Andrew B. Sterling. It was sung by Bing Crosby and Mary Martin in "Birth of the Blues."

Rebecca learned that it was 100 years ago that Cheers first opened, and decided to have a big celebration. She put the beer back to 1889 prices. She also hired a barbershop quartet to sing songs from back then. They were singing "Wait Till the Sun Shines, Nellie" when Sam yelled, "Just knock it off, will you?" Then he tells Rebecca that the barbershop quartet has been annoying people for a century, and someone had to do something.
12. At the end of "Death Takes a Holiday on Ice," Carla is in the pool room singing a song that was in a previous episode when Eddie gave her a recording of it because it was their song. What was the song?

Answer: O Canada

"O Canada" is the national anthem of Canada. "The Star-Spangled Banner" is the national anthem of the United States of America," "Hatikvah" is Israel's, and "Il Cando Degli Italiani" is Italy's.

Eddie Lebec was Canadian, and their song was "O Canada." After she learns that Eddie loved her best of his two wives, she goes into the pool room to grieve. You then hear her singing the song and calling pool shots.
13. In "Feeble Attraction," Norm has to fire his secretary, Doris. However, she does not respond well and becomes obsessed with him. What song does she sing when he tells her to go?

Answer: Seasons in the Sun

"Seasons of the Sun" is the English translation of the song "Le Moribund" by Jaquel Brel in 1961. Rod McKuen wrote the English version in 1963.

Doris feels like a nobody when she loses her job and compensates by going after Norm, Cliff, Frasier, and then back to Norm. Norm finally rehires her to get rid of her.
14. What game show was Cliff Clavin on that plays music called "Think" while contestants write something down after wagering money?

Answer: Jeopardy

"Jeopardy!" was created by Merv Griffin in 1964. While the contestants write their question for the Final Jeopardy round, music plays called "Think," also written by Griffin.

Cliff was a contestant on "Jeopardy!" and he was in the lead at Final Jeopardy by quite a lot. Unfortunately, he did not know the answer and was very cocky throughout the show. He wagered everything and got it wrong. The "Think" music played while he wrote down, "Who are three people who have never been in my kitchen?" after Alex Trebek revealed the answer, "Archibald Leach, Bernard Schwartz, and Lucille LeSueur." The correct response was, "Who are Cary Grant, Tony Curtis, and Joan Crawford?".
15. Who did Robin Colcord have come sing "You've Lost that Lovin' Feelin'" to Rebecca at the bar in "Finally!: Part 1"?

Answer: Bill Medley

Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield comprise the duo group The Righteous Brothers. "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" was written by Phil Spector, Barry Mann, and Cynthia Weill. It was first recorded in 1964.

Rebecca told Robin what the song does to her, and he had his radio station play the song the entire night the first time they made love. The next day, Rebecca is at the bar, and Bill Medley comes in and sings the song. She is so excited she keeps saying, "It's Bill Medley! It's Bill Medley!" Medley gets annoyed and yells, "Excuse me, excuse me. Would you knock it off? Somebody in the bar might want to hear this?"
