The early 1980s was a huge time of success for both Kenny Rogers and Kim Carnes. Carnes released her signature song "Bette Davis Eyes" in 1981. Same goes for Rogers with his memorable 1980 ballad "Lady" written by Lionel Richie. Together Kim Carnes and Kenny Rogers teamed up for the number one hit song on the Billboard Hot 100, "Don't Fall In Love With A Dreamer" in 1980.
The song was co-written by Carnes and David Ellingson and released on his "Gideon" album.

Younger music fans might remember the scene in the movie "Wayne's World" when Wayne sees his dream woman and she's walking in slow motion to the music of Gary Wright's "Dream Weaver". The song was first released in December 1975 and reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100. It featured legendary producer David Foster on a Fender Rhodes electric piano.

The last cut on Billy Joel's album "The Stranger" was the inspirational song "Everybody Has A Dream". While not released as a single, "Everybody Has A Dream" is a fan favorite. The 1983 version of the hard rock group, Rainbow, featured Joe Lynn Turner on vocals and Ritchie Blackmore on lead guitar. The first single from their album "Bent Out Of Shape" became one of the most successful for the legendary UK band. The music video had a patient getting hypnotized and MTV temporarily banned the video for the potential of viewers being affected by the hypnotic effect demonstrated.
14. "Walking On A Dream"

Empire Of The Sun released "Walking On A Dream" in 2008 on their debut album. The Australian duo won the Single of the Year Award at the ARIA Music Awards of 2009 for "Walking On A Dream". After being given away as a free single on iTunes in the United States, the song picked up traction and became a huge American hit. The song reached number one on the Billboard Dance Club Song chart.
15. "When I Dream At Night"

Marc Anthony is one of the biggest selling salsa music artists of all-time and recorded most of his music in his native language, Spanish. But in 1999, Marc Anthony released his first all English album and it was titled "Marc Anthony". The first track on the release was the gorgeous love ballad, "When I Dream At Night".
