Susan Atkins served one week short of forty years in prison, dying in 2009. She gave birth to a son during her time with the Manson family, a son she was forced to give up for adoption after her murder conviction. No contact was ever made between Susan and her son while she was in prison.

According to Pat Summerall, Doug Atkins was allegedly released by the Cleveland Browns for belching in a team meeting. That led to the Chicago Bears obtaining him and his Hall of Fame career in 1955. He went on to being named to the 1960's All-Decade team, and eventually put on the NFL Network's "Top 10 Pass Rushers of All Time" list at Number Nine.

His career was before the creation of the sack statistic, so no one really knows how many he would have had. But his ability to either mow an offensive line down or to just jump over them made him incredibly hard to block.
