The Detroit Red Wings began as the Victoria Cougars of the Pacific Coast Hockey Association in 1911. They won the Stanley Cup in 1925, the last non-NHL team to do so. The team was purchased and moved to Detroit in 1926 and began play in the NHL that year. The name was changed to the Falcons in 1930, and to the Red Wings in 1932.

The Golden State Warriors were founded in Philadelphia in 1946. The team moved to San Francisco in 1962. They became the Golden State Warriors in 1971.
3. Bills

The Buffalo Bills were one of the founding members of the American Football League, which began play in 1960. Named for the American frontiersman William "Buffalo Bill" Cody, the Bills became part of the National Football League when the AFL and NFL merged in 1970.

The Detroit Tigers are one of the founding members of the American League of Major League Baseball, which began play in 1901. The Tigers are the only franchise in the American League that still plays in their original city under their original name.

The Philadelphia 76ers were founded in 1946 as a franchise in the National Basketball League based in Syracuse, New York and called the Nationals. 7. Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers play baseball in the National League, the oldest of the two American Major Leagues. The team was founded in 1883 as the Brooklyn Grays, playing in the minor Interstate League. The team also used the name Atlantics, and joined the National League as the Bridegrooms in 1890.
Other names used were the Grooms, Superbas, Trolley Dodgers, and Robins, but they have been called the Dodgers since 1931. The Dodgers relocated to Los Angeles and began play there in 1958.

The Detroit Lions were founded in 1928 as the independent Portsmouth, Ohio Spartans. The team joined the National Football League in 1930, and was sold, relocated to Detroit, and renamed the Lions in 1934.

The Nashville Predators began play as an expansion team in the National Hockey League in 1998. The Predators became the second major sports franchise located in the state of Tennessee after the relocation of the National Football League's Houston Oilers, now known as the Tennessee Titans, in 1997.

The Baltimore Orioles have went through two relocations and name changes since they were founded as a charter member of Major League Baseball's American League in 1901. 15. Pistons

The Detroit Pistons are a franchise in the National Basketball Association, They began in 1937 as the Zollner Pistons playing in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The team joined the National Basketball League in 1941 and became a charter member of the NBA in 1949. The Pistons moved to Detroit in 1957.

The New England Patriots are a franchise of the National Football League. The team began as the Boston Patriots, a charter member of the American Football League, in 1960. The Patriots joined the NFL in 1970 when the two rival football leagues merged.
The team moved into the city of Foxborough, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston, in 1971, and have since been known as the New England Patriots.
