Although mentioned frequently throughout season 1, only once does the viewer get a glimpse of what Caroline's father actually looks like - when she goes to visit him in episode 18.

Answer: In a subway car

Caroline claimed that she was going to stay in the city with a friend but when Max catches the subway the next morning, she finds Caroline slumped over her suitcase asleep. Upon being wakened, Caroline explains that she actually had nowhere else to go and was too afraid to sleep on the street.

Caroline has a toothache because her "teeth don't know where to go" without her bite guard, resulting in the girls breaking into Caroline's former home in order to retrieve it.

Although she only sees Caroline's closet, Max is amazed by everything: the carpet, the "shoe rotisserie" (as she calls it) and the fact that Caroline has a bathroom complete with bathtub adjoining her closet.

Max and Caroline attend a cupcake decorating class after a trendy cafe declines to sell Max's cupcakes because they aren't pretty enough. Steven and Michael are there for their bachelor party (along with two other Michaels) and after Max decorates some cupcakes with insults directed at the rude class tutors, the grooms decide that insulting cupcakes would be perfect for their wedding shower.

In a later season 1 episode, Max and Caroline house-sit for the couple and look after their dogs.

Although Chestnut belongs to Caroline, Max has a real soft spot for the horse, regularly walking him and feeding him carrots.
