Wittrock, a Massachusetts native, landed the role of Damon in October/2009. In Damon's first scene, he spoke with his ex-girlfriend, Bailey. Wittrock has guest starred on the primetime series', "CSI: Miami", "ER" and "Cold Case".

Pratt, Jr., who wrote for the show from August/2008 until January/2010, created several characters, one of whom was Damon. Pratt, Jr. intended for Damon to be a short term role but the powers that be at "AMC" enjoyed Wittrock's portrayal. As a result, Wittrock was placed on contract in January/2010.

Damon's mother is Hillary Wilson, who appeared on "AMC" from 1984 to 1988. Hillary's biological father was Langley Wallingford. That makes Damon the grandson of Langley Wallingford on his mother's side.
