Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many queens competed in this season of the show?

Answer: Nine

A comparatively low number of queens for any season, the first-ever iteration of "Canada's Drag Race All Stars" only featured nine queens, but in addition to eight returning queens from across all six seasons of the show, the roster was rounded out by Canadian-born U.S. "Drag Race" queen Jackie Cox, who'd previously only appeared in season 12 of the RuPaul-hosted, core version of the franchise. Two-thirds of the competing queens had reached the finales of their respective seasons; one was a first-out.
2. The core judging panel for this "All Stars" season was comprised entirely of drag queens.

Answer: True

Before the queens stepped back into the workroom, Jimbo and Priyanka arrived to introduce themselves only to be brought back behind the judging panel by returning host Brooke Lynn Hytes. Although the show had a new guest judge for every episode, this made "Canada's Drag Race All Stars" the first instance, internationally, wherein the entire judging panel consisted of drag queens (all of whom had competed on past seasons). Brooke performed in the U.S. series' eleventh season, Priyanka won "Canada's Drag Race" season 1, and Jimbo appeared in Canada's Drag Race" season 1, "UK vs. the World" series 1, and "(U.S.) All Stars 8" (which she won).
3. The Golden Beaver returned this season and it was given based on whose determination?

Answer: The remaining queens

Yes, Golden Beaver came back again, once more saving one of the bottom three queens from the 'chomping block' by preventing them from lip syncing for their life. There was a catch this season, however. While in a typical season, the winner of any given week's challenge had the unilateral power to use the beaver, all queens not in the bottom were allowed to vote for who they felt was most deserving this time, making alliances and voting blocs all the more powerful.

The beaver appeared four times before being shelved for the last two episodes.
4. The first week of the competition featured a pageant. Which of these was NOT part of the challenge?

Answer: A Q&A session

In the first week of the competition, the queens were welcomed into the competition with the announcement that they would be participating in a Miss Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve, and Talent Pageant that would have them, first, performing in an introductory swimsuit number, then performing non-lip-sync talents, then hitting the main stage in their best eveningwear eleganza.

Pythia ended up winning the challenge this first week and Juice Boxx was revealed to be the winner of the Golden Beaver, but it meant that Nearah Nuff would would be facing off against Jackie Cox in the lip sync (to Raye's "Where the Hell is My Husband?"). It got the U.S.-based queen sent home first, leaving eight to compete.
5. Two girl groups of four each competed in week two, each performing 'the song of the summer'. Who was their guest judge?

Answer: Rebecca Black

In week two, the queens split into two teams to perform as four-person girl groups with Nearah (the winner of the mini-challenge) and Pythia (the winner of week one) as captains. From here, Jada Shada Hudson, the last to be chosen for a team, got to choose between two original songs: "Diva Down" and "Body Tea". On the main stage, everyone performed for the judges and special guest Rebecca Black before presenting original camp looks on the runway.

All said and done, it was Pythia who was sent home in a shock elimination against Makayla Couture.
6. The third week of competition brought queens a design challenge, but how were materials distributed to the contestants?

Answer: Via auction

Week three featured the design challenge for this season, and for the first time, the participating queens had to lock in for a design auction, bidding with their hard-earned DivaBucks to get accoutrements that they could use on garments made for the prompt of 'Looking Good, Feeling Gorgeous'. While some queens took sequins, feathers, animal prints, and metals, Nearah Nuff managed to get a thirty-minute design consult with Suki Doll.

Aurora Matrix won the episode while Juice Boxx and Tiffany Ann Co. dropped to the bottom. Juice went home this week, leaving six.
7. Week four saw the final six queens complete an acting challenge. In it, they had to film which of the following?

Answer: Political attack ads

As part of an acting, reading, and self-promotion/branding challenge, the final six queens had to create their own political attack ads that pushed them as the first-ever drag Prime Minister (and took down their opponents). Then, on the main stage, the category was 'Lavender Haze'.

This week, Nearah Nuff took the win, getting praised for both her ad and her look, but in Untucked, she convinced the others to put the strongest bottom queens forward for the lip sync. As such, Aurora and Makayla had to face off to Allie X's "Black Eye", and this time, Makayla went home.
8. The semifinal round saw the return of the Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve and Talent Contest. Which was NOT amongst the challenges encountered?

Answer: Makeovers

The queens took the gauntlet in the semifinals, completing challenges one after the other with the winner being pushed straight to the finale in each round. First, themed around Charisma, was a shortened Snatch Game won by Sami Landri (as Celine Dion). Second, based on Uniqueness, was a high-fashion dollhouse-inspired photoshoot won by Aurora. Thirdly it came down to writing, recording, and performing lyrics to the original song "Spotlight" for Nerve (won by Jada). Last, it was Talent, and this was a Lip Sync for the Win to Ariana Grande's "Into You" which was won by Nearah, sending Tiffany home in fifth.
9. In the finale episode, the eliminated queens performed a 'Lip-Sync For Your Pride'. Which queen won it?

Answer: Makayla Couture

The final episode of the season included a reunion that brought the four finalists and the five eliminated queens back to the main-stage to showcase their coronation looks and spill the tea about alliances, emotions, and other goings-on. To the eliminated queens' surprise, however, they would be competing in an unexpected mini-challenge, heading to the stage to perform RuPaul's "The Queendom (JROB Remix)", getting eliminated one-by-one as the song continued until only one was left standing.

Makayla Couture won the mini-challenge (and $2,500 CAD) while Juice Boxx was voted Miss Congeniality (and $10,000 from Shark). After the season aired, Pythia was crowned the Fan Favourite, winning a prize for herself as well.
10. Which queen won "Canada's Drag Race All Stars" season 1?

Answer: Aurora Matrix

The season culminated in a Lip-Sync Smackdown for the Crown wherein the queens had to go head-to-head in a lip sync bracket. Aurora would end up beating Sami to Shania Twain's "Man! I Feel Like a Woman" while Nearah would win out against Jada to Carly Rae Jepsen's "Cut to the Feeling".

It meant that the last lip sync was a battle between the two "Canada's Drag Race" season 4 lip sync powerhouses to Lady Gaga's "Perfect Celebrity", and after this, the judges declared Aurora Matrix the winner of this All Star season, awarding her the crown, the sceptre, and the $100,000 CAD cash prize.
