Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The first challenge of the competition featured which of the following?

Answer: Design

In this inaugural Canadian season of the show, the dozen queens who were brought into the workroom were introduced to the judges and given their first maxi-challenge on the first day. Mimicking the first season of the U.S. version of the show, the queens had to join in on a photo shoot before making their own garments out of Canadian materials (many of which were provided by Roots Canada). Rita Baga won this first challenge while Juice Boxx and Lemon needed to lipsync for their lives to "I Really Like You" by Carly Rae Jepsen.

The former became the first queen eliminated from this version of the show, going home in twelfth place.
2. During the second episode, the queens split into two teams to film skits themed around which of these Canadian TV staples?

Answer: Heritage Moments

This week, eleven queens split into two groups (one of five and one of six) to film mock "Heritage Moments" skits, one called 'The Muffragettes' and one called 'I Smell Burnt Tucks'. Given a script and headed by BOA and Anastarzia Anaquay, the teams had to impress the judges with their acting skills before hitting the main stage in outfits inspired by their first time in drag.

While Lemon rebounded, going from the bottom two in the first week to winning this challenge, the bottom two this week ended up being Tynomi Banks and Kyne, the latter of whom was eliminated.
3. The queens performed their own verses in the song "Not Sorry Aboot It" in week three. What type of song was it?

Answer: Diss track

Although queens were led into the third task with a quick-drag and teleprompter-reading mini-challenge, this particular maxi-challenge, for the top ten, featured an early original song and dance on the main stage in which the queens split into two teams and wrote lyrics for a diss track called "Not Sorry Aboot It", during which the aim was to throw shade at their competitors while executing original choreography.

It led to a runway themed around 'Quebecky With the Good Hair' during which Anastarzia Anaquway and Tynomi Banks were forced to lipsync to guest host Deborah Cox's track "Absolutely Not". Tynomi was saved a second time, sending Anaquway home.
4. Which of these was not a recyclable material utilized by the queens in the week 4 team design challenge?

Answer: Plants

Coming out of winning the mini-challenge in the fourth episode, Jimbo was tasked with assigning the top nine, split into three groups of three, the materials they would use for a fashion challenge pertaining to recycled material. While Jimbo, Ilona Verley, and Tynomi Banks worked with paper, Lemon, Priyanka, and BOA received plastic and Kiara, Rita Baga, and Scarlett BoBo handled metal.

It all led to a runway featuring their crafted garments as judged by guest host, the "Project Runway Canada" season 1 winner, Biddell. Rita Baga won her second challenge this week while Tynomi Banks was sent home in her third lipsync, this time to "Girlfriend" by Avril Lavigne.
5. Week five of the competition featured 'Snatch Game'. Which judge acted as host?

Answer: Brooke Lynn Hytes

The fifth episode of the season brought forth the Canadian version of the classic 'Snatch Game', putting the top eight queens into the panels to flout their best celebrity impersonations. Brooke Lynn, despite flopping during 'Snatch Game' in Season 11 of "RuPaul's Drag Race", took on the role as host while Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan acted as the players. Lemon and Rita Baga, notably, excelled (while Jimbo won as Joan Rivers), and the runway took on a certain irony as the queens took on 'The Night of 1,000 Celines' (with no shade to Brooke).

It culminated in a lipsync to Celine Dion's "I Drove All Night" that catapulted Priyanka into the spotlight and got Kiara sent home.
6. The sixth week of competition saw the queens working in teams to create advertisements for which of these?

Answer: Lawfirms

Hopping into another acting challenge in the sixth round, the top seven were tasked with creating late-night, drag-related lawfirm commercials, constructing the scripts, in their entirety and working together (in smaller groups) to direct the entire filming process.

It led all of them to the main stage where Rita Baga took the win after a denim-themed runway (themed 'Canadian Tuck-Shedo). BOA and Ilona Verley, both on different teams, were asked to lipsync to "Scars to Your Beautiful" by Alessia Cara (in front of guest host Tom Green) and Ilona was, for the second time, spared from going home.
7. In "Drag Race's" first-ever pageant task, the top six drag queens competed in which of these events?

Answer: Miss Loose Jaw Pageant

The final six all took on different archetypical pageant roles in this original challenge which saw them improvising in front of Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman and a live audience. Joining together for the rounds of the Miss Loose Jaw Pageant, the winner was ultimately crowned on the main stage following a topical 'Pageant Perfection' runway hosted by Allie X. Lemon, as a result, took her second win of the competition. Priyanka won the lipsync (her second) against Ilona Verley (in her third) to the song "Hello" by Allie X, leaving only five in the competition.
8. This season's makeover challenge saw the queens working their magic with which of these partners?

Answer: None of these

While other international seasons of "Drag Race" have run the gamut on makeover options (including family members, significant others, internet celebrities, and contest winners), the first season of "Canada's Drag Race" gave makeovers to five refugees who fled to Canada due to persecution in their home countries. Working with Rainbow Railroad, the queens had to make their partnered guests into their drag daughters for the runway, highlighting an obvious sisterhood. Lemon and Rita Baga both failed to hit this goal and lipsynced to Alanis Morissette's "You Oughta Know".

It was Lemon's second time in the bottom, and she went home this time.
9. The penultimate episode of the season featured the show's fashion ball, themed around which of these?

Answer: Snow

After another quick-drag mini-challenge themed around the national anthem, the Final Four had to bring several outfits to the table for their penultimate round, pulling together looks for a 'Snow Ball'. To begin, the queens needed to present Executive Holiday Party Realness in their best formal office-wear.

Then they moved into the Icy Walk of Shame apres-apres-ski looks. They ended on a homemade garment-- Ice Queen Eleganza-- which they made from scratch. Scarlett Bobo, who had yet to win a challenge, took her first victory of the season while Priyanka was sent to safety.

In a lipsync, Jimbo was sent home over Rita Baga in the semifinal round (to Tegan & Sara's "Closer"). It left a final three for the last round.
10. Which drag queen was the winner of "Canada's Drag Race" Season 1?

Answer: Priyanka

Priyanka, Rita Baga, and Scarlett Bobo were the trio who took to the runway one last time, finishing out the first season of "Canada's Drag Race" with a last challenge and lipsync for the crown. This last challenge was a tough one, forcing the final three to bring looks, lyrics, and runway presence to a remixed version of RuPaul's track "U Wear It Well". Following this, all three of the queens performed one last time for the judges to You're a Superstar" by Love Inc. and Priyanka was crowned the 'Queen of the North', winning a year of hotel stays from Hilton and the $100,000 (CDN) cash prize.
