Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Two men approach a concrete structure in a relatively desolate area. What is their purpose?

Answer: They are clearing the area for an imminent detonation.

The men have been instructed to clear the area of people in preparation for a demolition experiment. One of the men places a photograph of his former girlfriend atop the target of the explosion. His partner thinks it is a silly gesture.
2. Wendy happens to be a scientist working in a particular area. What is her specialty?

Answer: She designs weapons.

Wendy is a scientist who designs weapons for the government. After her latest experiment, she suddenly experiences a seizure.
3. Wilson and House have placed a wager on a sporting event. Which sport is it?

Answer: Boxing

Wilson and House had attended a boxing match. A wager of fifty dollars was placed. House loses the bet, but he has doubts as to whether the boxer that House had placed his confidence with was fully operational, so to speak.
4. A boyfriend of Wendy's accosts House in the hospital. House professes ignorance. However, the boyfriend presents a particularly apt resolution. What is this?

Answer: He suggests that Wendy has been poisoned.

Even though House is reluctant to talk to the boyfriend, he notes that there may be some semblance of truth to the statement from the boyfriend. Therefore, diagnostic tests are performed to confirm such a diagnosis.
5. While Thirteen and Chase are investigating the home of a former boyfriend of the patient, Taub and Foreman appear to have found a resolution. What have Taub and Foreman discovered?

Answer: A case of empty liquor bottles.

While the investigation of Wendy's former boyfriend is formidable and forbidding, Taub and Foreman discover hidden bottles of alcohol. This discovery leads the team to a misleading diagnosis.
6. It appears that House has reached the limit of the pain that he can endure from his leg pain. How does House deal with the issue?

Answer: House embarks upon a radical experimental treatment.

House inadvertently discovers an experimental drug which appears to work well with rats. It happens to improve muscle strengthening and reduces pain. House decides to experiment upon himself.
7. Who breaks into House's apartment? It happens to be something that House taught her to do.

Answer: Thirteen

Thirteen, at the behest of others, tries to determine the crux of House's current problem. Thirteen discovers that House has been performing a radical experiment upon himself in an effort to alleviate his pain without resorting to addictive pain medications.
8. In a laboratory, House is on a quest to do something. He needs the person in charge to leave the room. What does House request?

Answer: House requests a cup of coffee.

House comes to the realization that his dosage is insufficient for optimal results. Therefore he visits the lab. He needs some time alone. He asks the resident scientist for a cup of coffee. The scientist asks, "How does coffee help your leg?" House replies, "It will prevent me from getting the coffee." House takes the opportunity to obtain more of the experimental drug.
9. House has a sudden epiphany about the diagnosis of his subject concerning the bet with Wilson. How does he arrive at this epiphany?

Answer: He twirls his cane and strikes himself in the back of the neck with his cane.

House accidentally nudges himself in the back of the neck with his cane and realizes that the crux of the problem with his other patient is nestled therein. He proceeds to demonstrate this to his unwilling patient and it turns out to be the correct diagnosis.

The demonstration is quite exquisite. The unwilling patient declares, "I can't take a punch, but I can still throw one." Even so, House has discerned the "Achilles Heel" of the patient, and now can render appropriate measures.
10. While it seems that House has discovered a relatively beneficial agent to counter his leg pain. There appears to be an unknown problem. A scientist has entered his lab to discover something. What has happened?

Answer: The experimental rat has died.

House has indiscriminately increased his dosage of the experimental drug, which he hopes will prevail over his need for Vicodin. However, the scientist controlling the experiment arrives at his lab only to discover that his rat has gone to meet its maker.

The rat is dead. This is a foreboding of potential adverse reactions to House's own ill advised and reckless experiments with the drug.
